Recommendations requested: May have doctor as first offline client

We are hoping to enter the offline arena. We have our very first prospect.
Hubby had a medical appointment with our doctor today and the doctor is interested in a website - the driver was NOT new business or being found in the search engines but for sanity. The phones ring off the hook so they are interested in appointment scheduling, the collection of patient data, and email setup.

I tend to go for Wordpress sites and I about to research plugins (free or premium) that will provide appointment scheduling and form with database functionality. A quick google search has revealed

Appointy Wordpress appointment Scheduler
Caspio Forms

I am also aware that I will need to ensure that the data collection methods do not breach HIPAA or any privacy laws.

Any recommendations or pointers?

Thanks a lot!

My previous career was in the healthcare arena. You should not collect email addresses like you would for a landing page. First time patients will always have to call a doctors office to set up appointments-thats just standard procedure. When the patient checks in for the first appointment is when all the data will be given and let the patient know that they now can request an appointment through the website. If security is breached it won't be a HIPPA violation because there is no data to be obtained through the website. Email addresses are not considered vital patient information. The only thing the patient would be doing is "requesting an appoint and appointment time". The front office would then email the patient back to confirm or offer another appointment. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions.

I did not realize that the procedure would be different for first time patients. Thanks for the tip and for being open to more questions. I am likely to take you up on this !
