My Offline Marketing Idea..?Dumb?

Well I have been wondering how I would be able to capitalize on the 420 stores growing around my area there seems to be 3 on almost every block and I know there are some growing cannabis guides that that need affiliates...

Let say I got a domain with a redirect to the grow guide offer, and made flyers with proposition to make money growing 420 meds and selling it back to the clubs and also grow great 420 meds..

As for marketing hopefully flyers or business cards with the website would be enough .... and just dropping them off at each club.

Would something so stupid be attainable to accomplish.. The pot market isnt always a good market to get in to but with another market... would this be possible to work..?

Thanks

This is going to be one of those controversial areas nobody wants to talk about publicly I'm guessing. Hard to say, it could go either way. The more things change, the more they stay the same.... Deju Vu anyone? Remember Prohibition? Then there were gov. liquor stores... now we have these stores cropping up all over... I'm sure it will be out of the danger zone in future, but these days people are still being arrested over it, even those shops haven't been left alone I've heard...
I'lll stick to the important business with the low risk factors myself.

If you are not selling the plant in any of its forms, you are in the clear. Like any other info business, you are selling information. Take a look a high times magazine - all kinds of information there from a magazine that's been around for years...

Selling information about growing and taking care of said plants might be a lucrative business for you considering how many stores are growing around that niche.

These people are even offering franchises!

Funny Thing: I am not an user of said plant and have never used it as I hate the stench of it and just surprised myself of all the information I know about it from growing up in the ghetto - Might have to look into the niche myself!

  • What real business is successful from flyers? Who are you selling to? And why would they want to take advantage of what you offer? Who are you and what is your expertise?

People will buy from people they trust.

You are kidding right. Many offline businesses here in the UK use flyers as their only marketing. If I put out 30,000 flyers I make sales conversions of between 100 and 150 orders. Not high return in numbers but in income it is huge.

...There are plenty of situations where print marketing such as flyers and direct mail will mop the floor with yer google places and facebook stuff. Those things are great marketing vehicles but they...like many other marketing mechanism have their own inherent flaws and weaknesses.

There is no ultimate, end all be all marketing platform folks...and there is other highly effective marketing out there beyond your computer.

I quoted your comment only because it is similar to many I have seen on this forum...nothing personal

        Hello Doran,

I'm considering starting a flyer distribution business. Do you feel there is still a strong demand for this sort of advertising?

        Thanks

          nctom,

"strong" demand likely depends on your area....can you make it work? Yes.

What I would recommend is rather than just be the guy who will distribute whatever company A, B and C want to print up ....add another dimension to the service...create a flyer that people anticipate receiving. ( this lets you make some more on the actual ad revenue)

A special flyer that has nothing but high quality, awsome incentives from a number of local businesses (piggyback advertising). Give the thing a name ( a brand ) ...so when people see it they are gonna look it over cuz they know its the shiznit. Businesses will want to get on the thing before long...especially if you make the response rates public ( on its website perhaps, or even small print on the flyer)

Keep control over what goes on it....approach businesses and say, ok I have an ad idea for your company that I want to put on the (brand name flyer) ....very often they will do it. The deals on your flyer have to be better than the run of the mill stuff they would put in other ordinary ads. See...really really good incentives create traffic...and that traffic becomes lifetime customers for those businesses.

When it gets to a point where you can start charging more for ad space, then see if you can cover postage costs ( only 14 cents for saturation mailings)...you can turn it into a large postcard and distribute it to a massive area...that is entirely optional of course...you might be just fine with hand distribution to certain neighborhoods.

Also in your flyer distribution if you can devise a way to where YOU get the customer call or website hit...you want to collect the info from the people who respond or buy....because if they do it once they will do it again and again.

Likewise if you can determine households that are likely just throwing the thing away every time no matter what ....you want to get them off the route.

Do your own surveys from households to determine what kinds of offers they'd like to see delivered to them....then go to the companies and make a delivery offer.

Keep an eye out for situations where you could profit from a "finders fee" type situation. You might find opportunities for big ticket items ( not just consumables) where a company might pay good for a handfull of hot leads.

Hopefully you plan on making a little on the printing as well...and in cases where they need design...offer to do it (do it yourself or outsource it if need be) but make a profit on it. Learn what local vendors are charging...find it cheaper and then charge what everyone else is charging around there.

There are a number of online resources you will want to take a look at.

If you've looked at my site, I offer some pretty good retail pricing. Being a warrior however, you get special treatment

There are areas and will be areas for a long time needing flyer distribution.
As stated, try to help clients piggy back on each other.
And try to find a way to do it quickly.
