Quick Brainstorm: Services for dentists?

3 replies
Hi folks,

I'm meeting a dentist next week and wanted to do a quick brainstorm to see what services others were already offering.

I am thinking of:

* Newsletter with offers and updates
* Facebook Fanpage
* Set up on review sites
* SEO
* Video marketing
* QR Codes

What else have you been providing to your dentists?

Thanks,

Abul

    Direct Mail.

    Dentists don't need targeted mailing lists. Everybody uses a Dentist. Therefore a dentist gets to use discounted postage rates used for radius mailings. ( 14 cents) I don't know if it is the same in the UK

    A dentist could send out 1000 to 5000 post cards every month for a fraction of what he's paying to be in a big fat yellow book that people rarely look at.

    I usually give dentists a deal like print & mail 1000 for $325 (2500 for $650) (5000 for $1200) Which includes postage. (other vendors may not be that low, as I produce my own mailings)

    This gets him in front of peoples eyballs at a frequent pace - using oral health tips, childrens programs for parents to use, and other things. Always of course dangling a carrot for people to take the initiative to get themselves into the dentist.

    This is a powerful branding component which will capture him a majority market share of his reachable targets alot quicker than the thousands he's dumping into the YP.

    The direct mail gets him to the people that aren't already on his newsletter lists or fanpages and all the other people who are blissfully unaware of his existance. Consistent direct mail gets him into households and in front of the decision makers ahead of his competition regardless of how good their google places listing is.

    Direct mail is the perfect final puzzle piece for a grand marketing mix....it is how you can make yourself stand out against the other handful of guys he is talking to who are offering the same package you are. Your total marketing attack will be very hard to defeat, when you get all of these avenues in motion for him.

    There are a finite number of potential clients within his reach, and a finite number of chairs he can fill in a given week.

    The trick is to take over the greater portion of those numbers quicker than his competition....and what most dentists don't realize is ...the yellow pages isn't helping them accomplish that at all. By next year you will be able to get him to reduce his YP expenditure...and there you'll have more budget for your processes. In addition, you'll want to have new services you can plug in so that you can charge more.

      Interesting points there!

      This guy is more of a cosmetic dentist, so people who go to him usually want the perfect smile.

      We wouldn't get such a direct mail discount in the UK, but you're direct mail concept is interesting.

    I would go and listen for the first meeting, to learn as much as I can about his business. Then I would do my research and come up with proposal.
