How to properly prospect for business that need a mobile website.

Hello everyone, I’ve spent the last couple of weeks on the forum reading and absorbing a lot of information. I’ve noticed that a lot of people are interested in marketing QR Codes and mobile websites to small businesses.

Now I’ve read how some find it hard to convey the benefit of mobile marketing to unwary business owners, and others that don’t know how.

So here’s a simple solution: Oh it will require you to actually look at your junk mail...

Daily skim the following:
Local Papers
junk mail
Local Publications
Phonebooks
Coffee news usa
Craigslist, Backpage etc
Thrifty Nickel
Apartment Guide
Etc….

Now you’re looking for businesses that are currently misusing QR codes. We want the businesses that are paying money to advertise their QR Codes, but lack a mobile ready site.

Once we identify those businesses we simply reply to their ads, either via email, in person or calling. (Use a title that identifies the ad If you send an email)

Once we are in front of the business is now a simple matter of showing them their current site and then presenting them with a simple solution….

Which just happens to be your mobile web design service

Use a template, a WSO, or a turnkey solution. It doesn't matter so long as your doing something.

Go make some money warriors!

The thing is, Business Owners are 1) busy and over worked 2) have no understanding of online marketing and even less about mobile marketing, QR Codes, and Mobile websites.

So you are sifting through a TON of noise to find the ones who a) have a need, b) have spent money to create and promote a QR code, and c) don't have a mobile ready web site.

However you are systematic in your approach which helps to stack the deck in your favor.

Everything we do is based on systems. And while it may seem like a lot to do in reality it isn't. You grab a paper flip through it until you see a QR Code. Pickup a phone and call. Greeting of the day, hi I was reading your ad in the "mega money waster" and I have a couple of questions....

Or take a stroll and bounce in... I've often heard how difficult it is for people to get past the gate keeper, but it's rare that things work that way for me. I discovered a long time ago that if you leave the gate keeper in the mirror you can be successful at anything.

IF THE CODE AND CSS are done right... you really don't have to design a separate "mobile" site. You are designing a flexible site. The same site but designed to move and hide as needed.

      Here's an example:

Stephen Caver — Luck is probability taken personally

Make sure his website is as large as possible on your computer monitor (the larger the monitor the better).

Now open another browser window and then copy and paste the url in the iphone simulator:

iPhone 3G/4G tester - online website test emulator with flip

Go back and forth and you can see how when CSS code is done right, you don't need a separate MOBI website. Hit the CONTACT tab on the "big" website and then hit the contact tab on the "mobi" website. It adapts to the device without a hiccup. One site... coded correctly for box/laptop users and smart phone users.

Only problem is, that just gets me more excited for stuff I don't know how to do (but wish I did).

        Very nice...

i guarantee that code and css is very rarely done right...

do a local search for a particular business niche and i would be surprised if more than one is coded properly... let alone be coded to address mutli platforms or browser configurations
