Simple shopping cart for Wordpress?

Hey all.

I am interested in your opinions on shopping cart plugins for Wordpress. I basically just need a system that will allow me to process payments through various payment gateways, offer coupon codes etc. I am more interested in ease of setup than I am in a million bells and whistles. I am going to be using it for some of my offline business.

    Hmmm, most WordPress shopping carts are pretty extensive with lots of bells and whistles. But there is Cart66 lite, which is a free, stripped-down version of Cart66 Professional. Check that out.

    If you find Cart66 lite to be a little limiting and you want to try another free fully-fledged shopping cart plugin, checkout eShop.

    You could check out ecwid as they have some very nice and easily enabled features,.. plus the basic version (very versatile) is free.

    Apart from that,.. there are other good plugins and several that are paid-for commercial plugins also that you can "Google" for.

    I also highly recommend a theme that I have used several times before called Shopperpress. Its a $79 theme but is has many different skins that can be used and is highly customizable.

    I will say one thing about this,... and that is that so many offline marketing consultants are not very adept with e-commerce solutions. The majority of consultants seem to be focusing on SEO and Google Places etc, so if you can put together a solid and yet simple to implement e-commerce solution that can be quickly deployed then that will look impressive and probably also win you more business in which case this would be worth researching a bit more.

    I'd advise building a dedicated store in a new folder based on opencart or prestashop, which won't disturb your wordpress setup.
