  • Ask for testimonials from customers. Put the testimonials on your website. Take small blurbs from the testimonials and include them on you marketing materials.

After a good success story where you helped a client, create a case study. Use the case study in your marketing materials. Eventually build up a white paper and use that as well. Here is more information:

Giving good service and delivering on your promises is the place to start. Alot of companies make big promises to clients but don't back it up when it comes to delivering on those promises.

Make sure you always over deliver on the work you do, even if it is something small like a website redesign or Google Places listing. Get the job done faster than initially promised, include social media integration into the clients website, whatever you chose just make sure it adds value.

If you show your clients that you always go that extra mile they will be more than happy to refer your services to other business owners. Most business owners I have dealt with have had a bad experience with a web designer and/or marketing consultant. So just be different and offer good service.

You could also offer an incentive to your current clients in the form of a commission but that only works if they know that whoever they refer will get good service.

Nothing to add, i agree with Joe. It is so important to build strong relationships with clients because they will be easier to convince them to get our products or services in the future. By the way is well-known that a customer share a bad experience with an average of 10 people but only with 3 if it was a good one. So let's encourage them to write their reckon in our facebook, twitter, and following what Joe said use it to show your potential clients how good you are.

A great cusotmer service is essential nowadays if we want to succeed. Right now it is more important than ever to take care about the customer

The most effective advertising a company can get is more difficult to achieve but much more effective and lasting than traditional media advertising. It is word of mouth advertising and it's earned rather than purchased. It is your customers' opinion of your product, which can fluctuate from very vocal with praise to very vocal with derision.

Tons of ways really, but I have to mention one of my favorite that is just a really nice thing to do. Get several business cards, then go to the donut shop and buy them for the fire department in you areas - one or three firehouses, up to you. If you go to Chamber of Commerce events, you would be surprised how quick that kind of thing can spread around. For one, they operate on a chain of command that quickly starts asking "who brought the donuts?" I have run into the fire chief as well as the mayor at events who brought this up. On the other hand, it's your Firemen - so it feels great just stopping by every other week and saying "Thanks!". And on that same note, when it spreads around OTHER business get into it, and people start competing to do the same thing. Even if you come up with another idea, that is the thread of a good way to get your name out there.

Read the book, The Thank You Economy by Gary Vaynerchuk. It just came out last week and it'll give you a ton of ideas on how to get people talking about your product.

Buzz Marketing is another great book that talks about the same thing.

You market yourself and your business, starting a conversation. Sincerely your advise and create an audience of lawyers. In an era of social media, this is what begins to Nirvana: all advertising is word of mouth. The creation of loyal following, and they will be better than any advertising money can buy. When they trust you and tell your friends, your reputation is growing. Sales will follow.
