Advice needed for newbie - driving local traffic to Doctors office

Hello All,
I am new to this forum and actually doing I.M., though I have watched and learned a bit over the last couple of years. I have no practical experience.

I have developed a program/information product for heart Doctors (cardiologists). A key part of this product will be to drive clients to the local Doctor's office.

I need to be able to market to both the Doctors and clients who could benefit from these services. I think I have the marketing to the Doctors pretty well figured out.

The clients are another matter.

So here is the question: What system/product/mentor can I purchase that will get me moving in the right direction from ground zero. Driving local clients to the Doctor's office by grabbing their attention on the interent.

I have looked at the following programs on advice from a seasoned I.M. guru:
Jack Mize - Offline X Factor (Seems to be closed - can't get in right now!)
Kevin Wilke - Nitro Marketing (Just did not seem to connect with this guy.)

These I have run across myself:
Armand Morin - 100K Members ($ 1,997 - huge package, lots of bonuses)
Andy Kelly - Offline Goldmine (Closed - He may let me in, we are talking - $ ??)
John Shugart - Keyword Rockstar ($ 100 monthly - I have a little experience with this product and its seems great, but I think you need a bit of knowledge on "how to market" to use this program effectively. Perhaps best used in conjunction with a full offline marketing program?)

Others?

I appreciate the help,
Thanks

    I don´t really know of a product...

but if you build a site for the doctor, and make a couple of videos

if you use the local keywords right in both the site and the videos

    and backlink them...

    you are pretty much done.

unless you live in a big city, it works fast.

I would think you would want to gain expertise in promoting Google Places listings, and utilizing demographics in PPC and Facebook ads.

There are a few WSOs here that talk about marketing to and promoting local medical professionals. You might try a search in the WSO section for references to Doctor, Dentist, Chiropractor.

Thanks Sandra - solid advice, doing research on that tonight

Thanks Webapex - I think that I'm covered with the marketing to the Doctors - its the clients that need the services of the doctor, that I want to reach thru local I.M.

So what is a good off the self education product / software that could help speed up the learning curve, and get me moving forward?

      Thanks again!

What he says it is for the clients. Google places retrieve local on top for professions with local modifiers. You need to add this to the services to the doctors.

and you can offer to them as a service to manage the ppc campaigns.

Don´t know... look into local products in the wso section. or maybe someone else can help... If you don´t find anything let me know and I formalize this. Might not take long.

It isn't just about local traffic, there isn't really anything too much different...

Can you do SEO? Get the doctor on google places...

Something like this WSO is all you need:

    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-500-sold.html

Whether you are trying to list a local business or go after a product keyword, the principles are all exactly the same. It all comes down to basic SEO and that guide above will teach you everything you need to know about getting your site ranked on Page 1 of Google. If you can't do it by following that guide then you will never do it.

Don't try and overcomplicate things. Just follow what works.

First you need to indentify your target market "Sick people"

Then you need to find where sick people spend their time "Chemist"

Then you need to talk to Chemist and Doctor and market them together, Doctor recommends chemist, chemist recommends doctor.

You then put up a website very small just a few pages, with map locations, services offered and if you can a video of the doctor and chemist introducing themselves. (Interview them if they are not DR personality)

Make material to put in doctors and chemist that promotes each other and then manage that relationship.

Maybe bring in dentists, chiropractors etc and start a small Local medical directory.

After all that you then need to get your url out there LOCALLY, Bumper stickers, QR codes, People wearing t-shirts, get naked and paint the URL on your Back and run around town. (Guaranteed local news coverage)

The idea is to market non competing businesses Together, if each contribute an amount each month theres your income. Just minimise costs and you can keep quite a lot of it.

I hope that makes sense I just had a really big cup of coffee.

    ODA

PS combine that with advice above it is excellent.

    1. SEO
    2. Social media
    3. Directly search for doctors, contact them yourself.

Now I am a bit confused on what you mean driving local traffic to the doctors. Are YOU going to be doing that, or is it a program that is showing them how? An easy way for this would be google places, but if it is just in your area, then you're going to be competing with yourself!

      Good Stuff Everyone!

      Sandra hit upon it!

Yes, selling the doctor a complete package, which includes driving traffic to them for a monthly fee. So the Doctor does nothing but see new clients, and I try and keep them coming.

WillR - I will check out that WSO!

      Thanks for the great input!

There are two kinds of traffic for a doctor...the sick people looking for a doctor....and then everybody else....because everybody needs a doctor...everybody is a potential prospect.

The list of people looking for a doctor is but a mere microfraction of all available prospects.

It is only this microfraction of people who are going to be looking on google or in the yellowpages.

You want to get to the untapped traffic...the big chunk of potential traffic...educate them about the wonders of this great doctor...and "create" new traffic...new sales.

it is no different for marketers....marketers know that every business needs what they are sellin...but the businesses are still in the dark about it. There is an education process that needs to take place. You can get yourself on Google and wait for people to hook up with you, or you can go get in their face and wake them up to how great life would be for them if they hired you.

If your doctor spent as much money on consistent direct mail to the residences within his reach as he does to sit in the yellowpages he would see ten times the calls. The YP cant brand his name...Direct Mail however, keeps his name in front of people, and he establishes his authority by giving health tips or directing folks to new articles or resources...he is ultimately creating sales sooner than they would have occurred naturally.

Aggressive referral systems utilizing his existing customers will also set his appointment book on fire ...see...alot of his clients are already talking to their family and friends...and those people are hawing and hemming over taking action..but if they had a tangeable incentive in hand ( a passalong card of some sort) the decision process starts to move toward a real end result.

Anyway, those are a couple of traditional offline methods that you might consider.

Doran - That is great input, and has sparked a couple of ideas. I do see the solution as a "convergence" if you will between I.M. and old fashion marketing, i.e. post cards, word of mouth, free give aways, radio, newspaper, etc.

      Thanks for the help!

It is beginning to sink in that I should not probably buy one of the big expensive packages for my project. Rather that I should get down to the basics, as mentioned above, research on this site, learn, and take action.

        Appreciate the input.

        Thanks again!
