THIS CASE MIGHT GIVE ALL OF US TO THINK....OR NOT?

Hi Warriors,

A bunch of my Offline clients are asked me to take care of their autoresponder set up ...all the way from even registering (you know how offliners don't want to be bothered),problem is how to arrange the payment?

When I register my clients to the autoresponder service, the autoresponder will asked for a recurring payments monthly using credit card - I of course can not ask my clients to give their credit card secret code as required.

Anybody has a way out ?

Thanks Guys !

Get a prepaid Visa/Mastercard. Use that for the service.

Edited to add: That is assuming you live in the US or somewhere else that sells prepaid cards.

You should make the payment yourself, you maintain control if you have everything anyway. Bill them for it.

You definitely don't want them to be billed for it because that means they're involved too closely to the account. They could mess something up if they play around. Then you have to worry about disruption of service if a card is expired or gets cancelled. It's a mess. If you can have individual accounts all billed to your CC, that would be ideal IMO. If they stop paying you, you turn off the spigot.

        THIS is completely wrong.

You want all of your clients to have access to and maintain the billing to all of their accounts for a whole lot of reasons.

If one would do as you have suggested, "turn off the spigot", you are committing a felony crime called LARCENY, and can be prosecuted for withholding what is rightfully theirs.

It's THEIR account with the 3rd party service.

Stop giving terrible advice that hurts this industry and will get other novice folks into trouble with their clients.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I totally agree. When you offer this service to clients you need to be in control. That includes you subscribing and paying for the auto-responder service.

I have several business clients that use my auto-responder for their email campaigns.
I don't sell the service as Auto-Responder, but instead I perfer to call it my "Auto Email" service.

Why can't you ask for their credit card information?

That's how I do it. I get their credit card info and set up everything for them.

Your other option is to send them your affiliate link and have them sign up and then send you the login and passwords. I do that as well.

I think you are just getting hung up on something that is not that big of a deal. If you make it a big deal about asking for their credit card information than it becomes a big deal.

The other thing to keep in mind is that if they are actually giving you a credit card (not a debit card) there are all kinds of fraud protection behind that card. So if you go off on a big spending spree the credit card company will reverse charges and come after you. (NOT offering legal advice here.)

I'll even pay for it and then invoice them. But even then it's still their account and data.
