What's going on with my video rankings?

I plan on adding video rankings (getting their videos on the first page of google) as part of my services for local businesses. So I decided that I should make a video and get it ranked to show as an example. I made the video, "SEO'd" it, and two days later it was on page 2. Then I checked back two days later and it was nowhere to be found! Now, a day later, it's on Page 6....what's going on here? Is this normally how this works, do I just have to wait it out or do I need to do some more SEO stuff? Thanks in advance Warriors!

P.S. Its the first video that comes up for its keyword both on Youtube and when I click the videos link on Google

I would wait a while if I were you. If this is a recent video often the rankings will take some time to settle. It is common for videos and URLs to fluctuate in the SERPs. Depending on the competition a video will rank and then seem to drop but normally will return depending on various factors like competition and links etc.

Give it a week or two before spending more time on it.

That's what I figured, I'll give it some more time to settle before I do anything else with it. Thanks John!

I used to have the same problem when I first started offline marketing. Now I get my clients 2 videos on the first page of Google in less than 24 hours and they never move! They stay on the first page which is awesome!

I plan on making a video on how to do this, but it all starts with choosing the right search phrases. Here is a quick post I made today going over this: http://offlinerockstaracademy.com/go...-search-guide/

I also included a list of Google Suggestion Tools that are up to 50% off and range from $7 to $22 that are MUST have tools if you want to dominate Google Local Searches!

    It really depends.

Just wait a couple of days your video might be jumping around if it is fairly new. Start promoting the video with some free methods and drive up the traffic.

    Good Luck

my experience is more in line with Rockstar. It's a webpage. The more seo'd it is the better and quicker it will rank.

I have a client video that is ranking on page one for 25 different search terms. Yes. One video. It's better to run them in pairs though.
