Help choosing a domain

I was considering starting up some websites and then selling advertising space on them to local businesses.

I had a couple of questions, so if you guys could help me I would appreciate it.

1. What kind of information do you put on the website? If I am trying to sell space to a landscaper, so I write an article or two about how to cut grass and then put the advertisment for a landscaper beside it?

2. Second how do I judge competition? Do I use google with or with out quotes. for example I searched for a certain local service business.

Google keyword tool = 300 searches a month.
Google comp no quotes = 75700
Google comp in quotes = 52

Would this be a good phrase to target as a website?

    Congrats on taking action brother.

    I would need to know more about the niche and the keyword. But if all is good then (Google comp in quotes = 52) is pretty good.

    But I personally wouldnt do the sell ad space. I did take a small run at it about 1 year ago. Now I rent the entire site to just 1 person at $200-$400 per month set up on paypal.

    I personally like this model better, since they are happy to get a website all to themselves and I dont get alot of turnover.

    I also include classified marketing, video marketing, and social media marketing as part of the package deal.

    All you need is between 10 to 20 clients paying you $200-$400 and you are making $2,000 to $8,000 per month that only takes about 2 hours to set up each client and 10 minutes a month to update. Not bad for recurring income especially if you choose your niche and clients right. You will probably only get 2-3 calls a month from them at the most just asking you simple questions at most.

    I do plan on creating a video series outlining the steps and set up of this system since it has saved me so much time and effort compared to how I used to run my offline marketing business when I started. I really love those autatic payments coming in daily from paypal! I have one coming in just a few hours at $400 and another one on the first for $300 and on and on... Love it!

    Just need to make sure there is a demand for learning this system. Does anyone want to learn my system?

      So you find the keyword, build a small site and rent it to the business.

      I assume you wait until it is ranking number 1 to rent it out?

      Do you customize it for the customer? What do you put on it to get it to rank?

        I understand about putting your kw in the open forum since I wouldnt do it either. You can PM me if you like for me to take a look at it and give you some suggestions.

        I do wait until it is on the first page before renting it out which usually takes me about 24 hours or less. The way I set mine up I get 3-11 first page results out of 100,000-1.4 million broad match results (without quotes). Which makes it look awesome in my presentation screenshots when showing prospects what I do.

        As a matter of fact, last night I was on the phone with a friend that wanted help with a marketing preso for her boss to rank better in the search engines. While I was on the phone with her in 10 minutes I got them a 1st page result on Google out of 158,000 results (broad). She was blown away! It all starts with the keywords you choose.

        Which site do you mean? The one in my signature is my new Offline RockStar Academy where I am adding free and paid content on how be a RockStar in Your Offline Business!

        My goal is to provide free content that you can use instantly and then ad some paid content so that I can just focus on helping others that struggle getting their businesses started like I did in the beginning. My mission has always been to help others in life and in business no mater what projects I was working on at the time.

        I just need to make sure their is a demand for offline to learn what I am doing since I never sold my content to offline marketers.

        Awesome and will do. I would really love to share this because it has made my life so much easier and so easy to set up. Not like most sell, sell, sell, programs. Thats what I hated about most the WSO and offline programs out there. They would work, but they took so long to set up and I had to find a new client every month.

    Hey Jon,

    I'm actually doing the same as you and I just started as well. I have similar goals for my website, which is to rent the ad space to local businesses.
    I think you are on a right track, I would put very relevant info on your site. So yea, any information on how to cut a grass would be great. Then you can expand even a bit further by talking about lawn mowers and including your affiliate link to a lawn mower on amazon.

    52 results for the keyword tern in quotes is very good. It should not be a problem for you ranking #1 pretty soon.
    300 searches a month is pretty low tho. However, it's still ok if you are a beginner. Once you made your first site, it becomes a lot easier and quicker to launch a second site in a higher competing market.
