Google Places Questions

Hi all,

I would like to offer Google Places creation and optimization services to small businesses, but I have a few questions. Maybe you can help.

1. How do you know if a company already has a Google Places page? (Other than tediously looking through all the Google Places pages by hand to see if that domain is listed there.)

2. How do you know if that page was created automatically by Google, or by someone else?

3. Can people like myself, who own service-based businesses that offer internet marketing services, have a Google Places page? I ask this question because when I type in keywords related to internet marketing, I rarely see Google Places pages come up.

if you do a google search for a certain business in your town, say "Billy's plumbing Houston" if they have a Places page you'll see it and if you visit that Places page you'll see if the owner has verified it or not. If they haven't claimed it, go for them as a client! Good luck.

    1) PowerWealth247 is right, that is the way I do it most times.
    2) If it is a verified listing, it could be either. If it is not verified, google created it.
    3) You definitely can make a place page for yourself, just make a new place page on google places under your google account. To check for the keywords that have the place pages active on page 1, use the free google places pack finder software.

There is an awesome product created by a warrior called Local Search Intel. If you search around you'll find it. It's an incredible piece of software I use constantly.
