Client does not have PayPal

What other options are there to pay other than paypal? I am in Pennsylvania. My client is in Arkansas.

What do you suggest. Would it be easy for him to make a paypal account?

Yes, it would be easy for your client to make a PayPal account.

However, you can just set up a payment button.
Your client doesn't have to have a PayPal account, to pay through PayPal.
They can just pay via Credit Card

I just have my clients who arent on paypal to do deposit the money into my bank account. I make sure they know to include the invoice No. on the description of the transfer.

Also I you could try talking your client through paying via credit card on the paypal gateway - they dont have to be a paypal member for this.

Paypal will accept credit cards; just instruct your buyer to click on the "Don't have Paypal?" link and he can use his CC. You may even want to create a purchase page on your site with screenshots and easy-to-follow instructions so you don't have to repeat yourself with these non-Paypal clients; just send them the link. If you have Wordpress, you can use a simple pay plugin like Wordpress Easy Paypal Payment or Donation Accept Plugin | Tips and Tricks

In addition, I've worked with clients who had PopMoney, Xoom and Moneybookers. They transfer money into your bank account in 3-5 days. These sites all seem secure, but personally, I wasn't comfortable releasing my checking account info. to be stored online. OTOH, I was noticing more & more people who didn't want to use Paypal (for various reasons, nothing against Paypal per se), so I opened up a cheap checking account to accept these payments. If someone hits that account, they're not getting much. Lol

Go to paypal, click request money, type in their email address... call your client, tell them to go to their email, click on the link, it takes them to paypal, tell them to click on the link that says pay without logging in. And there you go.

PayPal is very easy to use and your client can really get the account up and running in a few minutes (the verifying process excluded). So I don't see what the problem would be to open up a PayPal account which is more and more used buy everyone these days.

But there is other ways aswell. As mentioned above:
Create a PayPal button for the sum that your client have to pay.

Or send an invoice mail with PayPal or maybe the Request Money menu in PayPal will do the trick.

    Good luck!

Congratulations, Mike! So I take it that your odesk worker did pretty well in scraping the contact information for businesses that had emails, but no websites? How much did you pay your worker to do this again?

Congrats on your new client brother and I agree paypal is the way to go.

I just create a paypal payment button using the merchant tab in my paypal account. It will give you an option to choose link in email and you can copy and paste the link and email it to them. They can pay with credit card without signing up.

But they will need to create a paypal account if you want to collect monthly payments (subscriptions).

      • A very professional way to do it that's easy, is to simply create a Paypal invoice. Then they don't need a PP account and can just pay with any CC.

To send an invoice with PayPal:
        1. Log in to your PayPal account
        2. Go to the Request Money tab
        3. Click on the Create an Invoice subtab
        4. Select an invoice template or blank template
        5. Fill out the invoice
        6. Review it
        7. Click Send Invoice

No... They must set up an account to do subscription payments. Also you need either a premier or business paypal account. Real easy to set up and free.

The way I sell them setting up an account is, they have the ability to go in and check there payments, when its about to be charged and if they wanted to cancel.

Joe, requesting money via Paypal is only for one-time payments. If you want to set up a monthly subscription, what you'll need to do is create a subscription link/button and send it to your buyer.
