I was following the 189$/month video thread posted by mikemac and it inspired me to take action. I've been calling local businesses and I finally got a appointment set after only my 2nd cold call ever. I explained that my work would be pro bono to the client since I'm just starting out in the area. I know some other offline people might think this is dumb, but I had to do whatever I could to get my foot in the door. I explained to them that if they could give me a chance and have confidence in my work, I'd help them for free. I'm hoping this will lead to a referral. Thanks WF!

I want to say that it's great you got the meeting, but can I be honest ?? pro bono work can be a pain in the bum.

If you are really just starting out then this is cool, but as a long term strategy you need some commitment from these guys so they will take what you do seriously.

If this goes through, find out what you did right and incorrect.

Find your weaknesses and strengths, then learn from those and
scale it up tremendously. You can only make lots of money from
    scaling it up a tad.
