Hows My Cold Calling Script?
I will be doing this for offline local business websites mobile sites SEO and hopefully other services.
I am sure it can be used for other cold calling.
Not really knowing how to go about this and searching asking at some other forums taking a little from here and there and just using my own common sense which is hopefully my inner Warrior I came up with this cold calling scenario or script.
Please let me know what you all think.
Start out with something like this: "Hi is the owner available? once on the phone: it's [your Name] from [your business name], just calling to see if you are open to the idea of new inexpensive ways to promote your business and get new customers?"
NOTE: By announcing your name and name of the business which they do not know, you are creating a feeling that perhaps they know you and taking away the "rude shield" HOPEFULLY!
than just sit tight as long as it takes for an answer which may feel like a decade
some expected negative answer examples may be:
"No can't afford to do anything right now"
"No not interested"
"Not at this time"
"Not at all click"(hangs up)
"No way you guys call to much"
"No this sounds pricey"
"No I have a website"
"No" or any variation of no
This negativity should trigger something like this in you:
would you like to talk about this at another time?
(to establish whether its a busy time for them or not a good time to think about all this)
"no" or any variation
(also could mean its a bad time)
but try this:
Ok I understand things are tough all over
some are actually stopping what they pay for now to
get some of the things I offer just to kinda change things up
and try a new targeted approach instead of throwing money away
on useless methods of advertising...
can I sit with you for a few minutes
and share some of this for you to think about?
There"s no obligation and I am not a good salesman so no pressure..( a nice guy or gal chuckle should be added to give this a humble feel over the phone)
Now you just shut up and let him or her talk.
If they stop talking or asks a question, just say "ok yes I can understand that, tell me a little more [about the concerns he or she is having with advertising and how much it costs or if there is another related subject to what your offering etc.].
Do this until they actually ask you something along the lines of: what can you do for me?
Now this is what its all about ...they asked you what you can do...let it all shine but not to pushy or overly
confident.Speak in the same rhythm if you will to sort of let them know your not beneath or above there level and want to help which of course you should want that if you want to grow a business relationship.
If anyone can critique this and tell why this or that should not be than please share some Warrior knowledge and survival skills.
