OFFLINERS... brainstorm on "Why you need a video..." please...

I'm looking to develop a list of things a small biz owner would IMMEDIATELY see the benefit of, in terms of...

1) why they need a video (basically I'm offering to make them a short video version of their "about me" page -- name of my site = ShowWhatYouDo.com)

AND...

2) HOW they can make use of a video

So far, for #1, I have...
People like to watch vids, rather than read the info
People do searches on youtube (2nd biggest search engine, etc.)
Videos get ranked higher, easier than actual sites

and for #2, I have...

Put it on website
send link to it in emails
ask their list to send it out -- so they get referrals

Any other ideas?

Is there any good PLR out there for this purpose -- specifically for OFFLINERS, and specifically re: "why you need a video..." [etc.]??

Please advise.

THANKS!

    Why local businesses needs video:

    - You need 5 videos in your Google Places Listings

    - With the right title, the video could show up on first page of google for spesific keywords, with the business' phone number! (PM me for an example)

    - This is 2011, a site without video will be perceived to be built "in the old days"

    - Youtube is the #3 most trafficked site in the world

Offline marketing is not the best one today...
App business is better and more profitable!

    Thanks

You're talking the wrong language. Most business owners want to 1. increase the bottom line and/or 2. decrease costs.

Explain to them, in their language, how what you provide accomplishes this.

    Still wrong approach.

    Try the competitive angle.

Someone here posted about going to YP.com and searching for local competitors using videos. Find a local competitor -- potentially someone they HATE -- then SHOW your prospect their vid on YP's (overpriced, btw) network.

That should hook 'em, or at least disqualify 'em quickly so you don't waste time.

Isn't YP charging like $500 for those videos?

    Crazy....

    They suck too....

All of the reasons used above, plus...

    1. Over 40% of Internet users watch online videos at least once a week and,
    2. Over 70% watch online videos at least once a month.

I'm pretty new to this stuff, but I've been around businesses for a while. Seems to me that another great reason for a video is that it puts a face and a person on your business, and people like to buy from people. So it is important to come across as personable, competent, reliable... they can presell their store or service, thus enticing the initial contact into calling or coming in.

Good first impressions = more customers

Exactly what you should tell them, along with the fact that you make yourself stand out from the crowd. But just tell them how you plan to increase their bottom line and not break the bank doing it.

Someone posted a great thread about testimonials on google places. That's a great way to get customers to convert if you can get glowing testimonials from real people, customers or real business owners who are known in the community.

Don't forget, if you shoot your footage or order your videos in HD or even standard def, you can cut these into local commercials you can use to advertise with as well.

Everyone knows that peer to peer recommendations are one of the strongest forms of effective marketing. That is why these Google Places and other Directory Listings are so powerful. They are peer to peer recommendations on CRACK.... No one really talks to their neighbor any more.... Most people just Google it, and see what other people have to say.....

So if I put your video on Page One... what do you think that would do for you?
