How do you sell email marketing campaigns?

If you've read any of my recent posts, you'll see that I've been pushing my new text messaging service to local businesses. But I was thinking of including an email campaign service as well just in case they're not biting on the text message marketing....but I'm not sure how to sell it.

I could set up a lead capture page for them to capture emails. But do I create all of the monthly email marketing messages for them? Or do I train them on how they can send them emails themselves? If I'm the one creating the emails, how much should I charge for each one? They can take a lot longer to design and create than simple text coupons.

Also, what email campaign service should I use? I own the professional version of GWA for Wordpress, but what if the owner simply wants me to add a squeeze page to their current site? Should I set them up with something like Aweber, GetRespose or Constant Contact? And if so, this takes me back to my previous question on who sends out the emails? Also, do any of these professional email campaign companies have an affiliate program?

Thanks.

Mike

Educate yourself first. Go to any autoresponder website & read about percentages, open rates, click through rates, ROI, etc... Thats what business owners understand...statistics & percentages.....usually it sells itself once they see the benefits & ROI.

Do a search here in the WF...tons of threads on "the best autoresponder"...lots of good info in those threads....

What you do depends on what services they are paying for. usually charging a monthly maintanance fee would cover email list management, email templates, possibly a newsletter template or two. They would furnish the content, you create the email & send out.

Most times business owners will have you do the work because they are too busy or lack the knowledge to do it themselves....some will insist on doing it themselves....so you just provide the vehicle (autoresponder....using your affiliate link of course). A lot will see the amount of work it take & will have you do it for them in time...

Alot of debate on which is best...it's all a matter of taste & what exactly it is your trying to achieve. Aweber, IContact & GetResponce are the more expensive, but are also the most reliable with better delivery rates than others.....for a simple newsletter format....constantcontact will easily do the trick & save you a few bucks....

Most all have affiliate programs you can join...I suggest joining most all of them & offer choices on pricing & functions....
    Hope that helps some...
