Hi Warriors!

What business models are you using to just sell leads to local business owners?

So far, I've found someone with a strategy using PPC only to collect leads and then turn around and sell them to local businesses usually offering the first 3 for free just to prove the service and then negotiating a cost per lead afterward.

I really like this model, but I just don't have the money to put into a PPC campaign right now.

Since Google Places is predominately on the top of the search results, will good SEO and organic traffic strategies be enough to get real time leads?

One effective business model might be built around
giving some free leads to local businesses,
allowing them to try them out, and see for themselves
that the leads to indeed result in more business for them.

In your own promotional materials, you might brand
the free leads package as a starter pack, or a trial pack,
or introductory pack, or Proof pack.

ONCE UPON A TIME there was a Warrior named Bob. He was sad. And frustrated. You see, Warrior Bob spent every last nickel on Internet Marketing e-books. But nothing panned out. No traffic. No sales. He was one sad Bob. Then one day Bob found a bottle. He rubbed it and out came a Genie who granted him 3 wishes. For Wish #1 Bob asked for a pet Dragon. Wish Granted. For Wish #2, Bob wanted Warriors' websites seen by 53 million TV viewers, for under $5 per broadcast. The Genie said... (click here)

Organic and Google Places leads are going to be BETTER than PPC leads, because the natural results are much more trustworthy in people's eyes. I personally believe that the Places listings are the "most" trusted, because it appears to the searcher that Google put their business there for a certain reason, and they didn't have to pay for the ad. Almost like an endorsement by Google.

I have found that organic listing has a much better return that PPC. with PPC you find that there is a high bounce rate but with organic it has a much lower bounce rate. So organic is the way to go and then a small spend on PPC to help it along.

I think you can do it with organic search results. However, PPC will give you a fast return and immediate results. While organic seo is better than PPC, i still think you can make money with PPC selling these leads to the local business owners. Depending on the niche and the number of people searching for the local business's services, organic seo make take longer to see results. If you don't have time to wait, go with PPC. PPC still works (well, MSN adcenter and Yahoo works - adwords might ban you for no good reason), so give it a shot.
