I have seen bits & pieces of pricing on various threads. What is your price for your main services and do you have 2-4 pricing points with various features? Also, what are the two or three main services you promote? Thanks

There are a number of different strategies. Here are some articles that address the various theories of developing a price structure. While the article are specifically related to software, the articles hold true for pricing a variety of items.

Keep in mind that you should not rely on price alone as a unique selling propisition in other words, find other ways to compete cheaper is not always better.

I agree lowest is not the best option. It makes your service appear to be inferior and will result in dealing with many more difficult clients who are price oriented. I am looking to be middle - high on the pricing.

I am trying to get a feel of some other's offline pricing range to formulate my pricing strategy. I am going to offer the the client 3 different options price wise. Also, I am trying to find what is the best service to get your foot in the door with small business owners.

You might start by listing the various aspects of your service (i.e. installing the website, graphics for the site, basic pages, on page SEO, off page SEO, etc.). Then give each one a value that pays you fairly and makes you excited to do it. Then add it all up.

As to what a business will think about the cost, it is more a function of what the lifetime value of a new customer is. For example, a barber will have a much lower customer value than a locksmith. In the end, it's not what a business pays for a service, it's what they net.

I will probably outsource most of my stuff. I am trying to come up with a pricing point and compare it to the various options with outsourcing, so I can budget my sales and expenses.

Well, I don't think it is wise to put a pricing openly in a forum. This is very sensitive information and you should reserve it for your true clients. This is my opinion.

I am not looking for exact pricing, just a range. If people don't want to share that is fine. I have seen bits and pieces in different threads, but trying to find them is time consuming. Besides, there are ways to get pricing if I had too.

  • If you price yourself high, you show you give quality, and you have room to negotiate. I learned this when I had local businesses that sold sunglasses. I taught my employees the same - sell it with everything you got at the highest value, and if they are about to walk give them an emergency sale. It worked.

I am still learning consulting in offline marketing, but I assume the same policy will work. I'll have more feedback as I talk to clients and test.

I offer $5,000 for my consulting services. I focus on ad re-writing, focus on backend customers, getting referrals, price adjustment, acquiring new customers, and online marketing. I try to cover as many areas as possible, and i start with a series of pre-qualification questions to see how i can help them.
