Big project...where to outsource to a cold calling agency?

Hey guys,

Working on a project as we speak. I am getting a website directory coded from scratch in .net, so that it has all the functionality that i need. Frankly, i was not happy with the performance and functionality of the wordpress based online directories.

Anyway, project is about 4 weeks till completion. Then will follow a lot of SEO and when respectible traffic is coming in, cold calling can begin.

There are 11,000 businesses for the first industry in my country. There are already some directories for them, but the designs are poor, ease of use is poor & rankings could be much better.

As such, I am hoping to convert about 5-10% (500-1000 paying clients) in the end. It will initially be a small, more than justifiable payment, so i believe these numbers should be realistic.

Now, the question. Should i go on odesk and try to manage and outsource the cold calling there? Have not had the best experience with cold callers on there, but i am partly to blame as i wrote the scripts and maybe they were not that great. Might outsource the script also.

Is there some agency i could speak to about this? What type of pricing are we looking at, does anyone know?

Thank you

There are some decent telemarketers on there but the problem i had was with their accents, people in my area tended to just cut off fairly quickly.

In any case I ran through some dummy calls with the telemarketer to ensure the scripts were good and actually listened in on a few, but for some reason I didn’t have as much luck.

I’ve actually seen a few ads on the warrior forum where warriors are willing to do some cold calling so that could be an option?

….if not already id check out some of John Durham’s threads and resources J

    Best of luck buddy

    Hi Billy,

Thanks for your help. Have read a lot of Johns content before and find it very good, but I think it is more geared towards people (like myself) who want to do some cold calling for themselves initially (which I guess I will do first to test the campaign) but in the end I will probably need like 2-3 or maybe even around 5 to 10 people calling for me, as there are a lot of businesses to get through to.

    Kind Regards
