Mobile marketing, what's the big deal?

I'm intrigued, but admittedly ignorant about mobile marketing.

What are the best resources to learn how to use mobile phone marketing for clients?

I have clients that are very visible in search. They rank well regardless if the consumer is searching from a computer or from their Google App on their phone. Isn't that mobile phone marketing?

I understand that you can send text message ads, but that requires a list just like in email marketing, right?

I know Google also sells boost ads specifically for phone searches.

So the advantages as I see them are paid Boost or Adwords ads, organic mobile search and text ads (that require a list).

What else am I missing here?

Regards,
Dino

It's the future! People are increasingly using their phones in buying decisions, and they almost NEVER leave the house without it. It is the ONE place businesses know they can almost always contact their customers, and the one place that is getting more and more technologically advanced in order to help their customers buy from them more easily!

Regular sites are super hard to navigate on a phone. Sites that are customized for mobile have a large advantage.

SMS campaigns have higher open rates and you do not have to wait for someone to be by a computer or worry about a spam folder. The information is sent and read instantly.

I am in San Diego as well and would be interested in talking with you.

Yes it does. The list will be provided to you by your clients...have them use table tents or hand out flyers with their receipts.

These will have information on them so they will be able to subscribe using your client's keyword, thus building a list so you will be able to send them text messages legally on your clients behalf.

    Hope this helps.

I have a SMS platform I get text messages for 0.029 and I sell for 0.070 I build my own list and rent my list out to business owners for a price. I do think that building a clients own digital list is best...But I am testing the market here in San Francisco with the night clubs targeting club goers...

Build the list out to 500 before you start renting it out.

It is a very big deal. Companies are frantically getting sites optimized for the mobile phone market. And besides just SMS texting and voice broadcasting, there is a rapidly growing subset for NFC (Near Field Communications) for paying for hamburgers and latte to consumer products, airline tickets, movies, etc. This is getting huge.

If you can get consumers on a targeted list of SMS recipients, you can push a button to send a message and see an almost immediate return on investment in your clients' stores around town.

    Imagine if you will...

"Join us for dinner tonight at TGIF, and we will give you a free drink with dinner. Just present this message to the waitress."

"Save $5 on 50 lb bag of dogfood. Today only. Present this message to the cashier."

"Save 50% on a service call during May. Tell our dispatcher about this message to get discount."

Very literally, if you have consumers on a SMS list, you can help your clients print money in 25 words or less.
