Best marketing book you've read

I am constantly educating myself and want some suggestions to add to my collection. I am currently focused on marketing for small local businesses. My main focus is on SMS, but use some other channels as well.

So what is the best marketing book you recommend?

Thanks, Scott

Hey Scott - In my book, you can't go wrong with just about Dan Kennedy or Jay Abraham when it comes to exceptional marketing thoughts and strategies.

Jay's "Getting everything you can out of all that you've got" should be required reading for anyone considering marketing their own business or providing marketing help to other businesses.

    Cheers,

    Steve

If you are on Jay's mailing list, he just a couple weeks ago sent the "Getting everything you can out of all that you've got" book out as an ebook (pdf) to his list. It is an excellent book. Not sure if he also put it on his website but might be worth a check.

    "Business Model Generation"

It's not a strictly marketing book, and does not drill down into skills like copywriting and campaigns, but filled in a lot of pieces for me on choosing and understanding your market and their needs, and designing a product, campaign, and business model around them.

I feel like we overlook the big picture stuff sometimes in search of details, which certainly have their place, too.

    Steve already mentioned it:

"Getting everything you can out of all that you've got" by Jay Abraham.

I have several of Jay's VERY expensive courses.

Most of the information from those courses that cost $5,000 to $10,000 each is in that $20 book Getting everything you can out of all that you've got.

It's hard to go past that kind of value.

    Kindest regards,
