Well, I figured this section of the warrior forum would be as good a place as any to post this and get thoughts:

So I've noticed (as I'm sure you all have as well), that pretty much every WSO posted on this forum always have rave reviews. The problem is, these reviews are almost NEVER from people who have actually implemented these products/strategies.

Occasionally I do come across a WSO here and there where people actually talk about their experiences after implementing the WSO, but it's few and far in between.

Usually it's "Wow, this is the best thing since sliced bread, even though I haven't even finished reading the PDF or watching the videos, much less implemented anything" reviews) lol.

It's like everyone is just running around, patting each other on the ass (I can say that here right?) just for taking 20 minutes out of their day to put together a 15 page PDF with size 25 font!

That's not to say that there isn't any value to be found in a 15 page pdf....you guys get what I'm saying.

So what do you guys think?

After re-reading over my post, I'm thinking it kind of sounds like it has a hostile tone

Just wanted to say that's not the intention with the post! I've purchased a bunch of high-quality wso's that have really helped me further my IM education, and will continue to buy more!

It was more that I had this thought process after viewing a WSO tonight that actually HAD good reviews from people who actually implemented the strategies!

I have bought some great WSO's and some not so good. I don't pay attention to the reviews anymore. If I can't get one idea from them, they are worth it. I mainly look for ones with marketing material to give customers or use my website, since it is not cost efficient for me. However, no WSO will be as good as going out there, making your mistakes, but learning from your actions.

My favorite one was on a recent blockbuster WSO saying "I'm loving these videos, can't wait to finish watching" and it was a completely PDF product.

Definitely some great points there mavericx that I can appreciate as a WSO seller and one who has purchased more WSOs than I know what to do with!

From what I've seen, WSOs generally fall into one of two categories.

Category One is the kind that promises to teach you how to make x amount of dollars by the end of next week or next month. This is the kind of thing where someone can only really comment on the perceived quality of the materials (video, pdfs etc...) received and unless they take time to put the plan into action there's no way they can really comment to how effective the methods are - unless they come back weeks or months later to comment and I don't see that happening all to often.

While I wish people would come back later and share their thoughts on the effectiveness of something like this, odds are good that maybe a handful of people out of a hundred did anything with it and those that had any success are either too busy or just forget to come back and post more comments.

Category Two contains WSOs like software or PLR material that doesn't make any income claims and either is what it says it is right out of the box or it doesn't do what it promises and it's junk. With these purchasers can immediately comment on what they've purchased and there's no need for them to come back later and comment.

Of course you'll also find cases like the one Derek just mentioned, and here I have to wonder if this guy even purchased or was just trying to raise is post count or have his signature seen in a popular thread??

In any event, while there are some great WSOs here there are also some duds as well, and before purchasing anything you should always consider who you're buying from and the reputation they have, consider the reputation of the people posting reviews for them, and be sure they have a money back guarantee as well.

    All the best,

    Steve

I have commented on one WSO after a long period of time of my results after using it. (It was one of Gene Pimentel's.) I happened to get a few PMs about earlier comments I had made and then followed up on it with more results.

I, too, would like to see more long-term comments, but I know from experience that I don't even remember the links for the majority of WSOs I bought.

If someone were to ask about my experience with a WSO I have purchased and made a review for (and included a link to the WSO via PM), I would probably go give progress reports, but I honestly don't keep track of those threads - and I would imagine most other people don't either.

It seems like there is a ratio to the amount of hype to how good the WSO is, the more hype the more likely the WSO is crap.

I bought a couple in the last few months that were absolute garbage, there were people posting how amazing it was and how the price should by 10x higher so I thought this must be a awesome product. After I opened it up I realized I'd been had and chalked it up as a learning experience.

Bottom line is this is a marketing forum and some of the members are VERY good at what they do, so keep that in mind whenever your reading their offer.

I didn't read what anyone else said, because I don't want to just sit and read all day. I almost didn't want to read the thread, but I gave in. LOL.

Here's the deal, when people, smart people, release a WSO, they give away a few review copies. I gave away 2... some people give away 20 to make it seem popular. The reality is, that people are hesitant to buy a WSO without seeing reviews.

I gave away 2 review copies, and that was it. You can look at the link in my sig to see some reviews, I haven't even updated the copy with reviews because I just don't care. When people sell a WSO, they seem to be worried about money and that is all they want, they think its a good way to make a quick buck. That isn't true. There are many people that struggle to break even. Fortunately I have done decent with my first WSO, and was smart about it.

The key to offering a WSO, is like anything and everything else. You need to offer value, you need to be able to sell it, and think to yourself, "how the hell can I offer all this for this price, why would anyone not buy it?". That is how I feel about mine, and I have sold over 100 something copies. The main thing here, that was my first WSO, and it was a success. I don't think it had anything to do with luck, it had to do with the value being offered.

I know for a fact many people who have bought the WSO are implementing it, because I get about 10 questions a day emailed to me, or people messaging me on skype. You're right though, people tend to get information happy, skim through a WSO and post a rave review, planning on taking action in the future. LOL.

Rarely, is there a WSO that I have seen have anything in it that I couldn't have found on my own. Do I recommend buying WSO after WSO? Hell no. Do I recommend WSO's at all? Absolutely. You have to be wise, and not waste money. Mine is related to SEO... not everyone needs that. Why would someone who needs accounting advice or mass emails, buy it? Because they are information happy. Don't make the same mistake, buy relevant WSO's... and stick to the plans.

A WSO is not a get rich quick scheme, regardless of how they make it seem in the sales copy. What a WSO is good for, is speeding up the learning. Overcoming a learning curve faster than you could without it. That is all.

When we were proudest of our results (Ken and myself) we have given people access to the actual students in a skype group.

Of course, this did not give us the benefit of posting to a thread.

So I have taken to asking...if I can talk to somebody who has used and been successful. That is one way around that.

I feel as though i should post on every WSO i buy because it really helps them. I even post bad reviews if i feel they deserve it.

This was the first time I got a chance to jump on the forum since I originally posted yesterday; man, I missed a ton of posts!!

One thing that would definitely get people to come back and post on their experiences with the WSOs they've purchased would be to offer and "incentive" to do so......but obviously that can't happen.

For one, it's against the rules, but just as importantly, you get into the obvious issue of honest reviews....people who are given a "bonus" to post a review are going to be far more likely to post a positive review, regardless of their experience.

Maybe some kind of system could be implemented directly through the WSO system.....where an email is sent out a month or so after purchase asking about your experience with it. Like the "star" system like amazon has for items.

Of course a "month" down the road, it won't really matter anyway, since everybody has bought by then! lol.

Besides, implementing something like that would cause a whole bunch of new headaches!

But anyway, just thinking out loud.

      Thanks to everyone for contributing!!

I get a sale every day, without promoting it at all... people always check it out, and they dig DEEP.

I don't know of anyone that gives a bonus out for a positive review...? You shouldn't be buying more than one or two WSO's anyway. LOL.

I think that in the "terms of service" (in regards to posting a WSO), they say that you can't incentivize (however you spell it) people for actions, like reviews....but I can't remember exactly what it says.

I've seen at least one WSO that I purchased that offered a bonus if you posted a review and sent them the copy and your transaction #. I won't say who it was but there were a ton of good reviews and I was less than pleased with the actual WSO.

I remember someone in their sig file stating they were the biggest WSO company on the forum. I just think to myself that this person must be in the business of selling WSO's and not doing any of the strategies they are talking about,it just makes me think.

I think WSO section should be more controlled and protected.

Some approved WSO's are just a really piece of **** and pure scams and they shouldn't be allowed first place.

Personally I believe there should be more control. We can't have WF's reputation destroyed by low quality/scam WSO's. If someone is approving them, how so many crap comes approved?

I hope Allen and his trusted Mods have a deep analysis of WSO section next weeks.

Someone asked me if I would review an info product that he wanted to put up as a WSO.

I emailed the comment I would put on it (not rude, but not in any way flattering) and gently suggested he get someone to proofread it.

I never heard from him again.

Some funny comments in this thread... but in general, I do agree. I find in other forums, there are a lot more people willing to say bad things about a product if they don't like it. I don't think I have once seen a bad review yet for a WSO!
