local SEO .com or own country?

Hi,

You want to rank 1 on Google for say "London Florist" is it best to go for a .com or .co.uk? Which, In your experience is easiest rank high for?

    I am a non expert but my friend runs a computer company and he says you should use your Country code and have it hosted in the same country as you are too.

    It makes a fractional difference apparantly.

    yeah I looked at many of the sites i have and they are .com.co.uk's and .nets..so does it make any difference? I guess best to stock to .co.uk ofr UK. Givs it alittle more local feel.

      It does matter.

      If it doesn't say .com or .co.uk I wont click on it as I think it is foreign.

      Doesn't matter whether that is right or wrong that is the way it is. And not just for me.

    Fernadno...that's just wrong....maybe for big competiton sites but not for small local sites. In fact I hardly do any backlinking and no content.
    I agree woith the above statement as well. Nothing worse than looking for a local biz and you see sites for business based in other countries...
