Anybody Ever thought of this?

I always try to think about some new strategy to approach the offline marketing world.
I was wondering if anybody ever tried this strategy.
You type a keyword on google for a local business. let say "New york dentist"
then what you are targeting is the businesses that are running google ads.
Since they are running the Google ads you contact them and tell them that you could help them bring their website to the first page of google instead of them loosing a ton of money on temporary google ads.

Why I think this can convert so well is because you see these business already know the importance of getting to the first page of google thats why they are running ads.

So anybody??

This is a great tactic, but certainly not new.

Heh, ya...it's been suggested for a couple years now (and not just for Offline purposes), but a great strategy for sure.

Yep, definitely not a new tactic but one that works. Target businesses that are already spending money on adv.

It will work well, you just have to prove to the prospect that they can get results from SEO, as the thing is if they are spending on PPC they may have already looked into SEO

Yep, and the final benefit could be explained like this:

With PPC, you are paying for 1 click to your website... you have to pay each time you get a click!

BUT Let's say you spend the SAME budget on SEO every month...

Each article you write or link that you build can be clicked on MULTIPLE times for FREE, forever... which makes more sense?

Easy way to explain to them that really makes it a no-brainer!!

  • It is a good strategy in theory but what I have found is that most local business owners don't have the wherewithal to run PPC campaigns themselves and therefore when you contact them you get 'I already have an SEO guy that does that for me.'

    Still worth a try though.
