I think Intuit has been useless since Bob Parson's sold it and started GoDaddy.

Im far from a good designer/coder myself but I can create better looking pages in Dreamweaver in minutes.

I dindt like their pages because they were ugly... and im not going to deliver a client a website that doesnt even meet my own standards and then charge for it.

    Don,

I have not personally used Intuit Weblistings but from what I can tell from the product description on the website the service is limited to sending information to 4 directories. You can do this yourself or better yet out source this task.

There is more to Local SEO than sending information to directories. This however is an important step to get a local site to show for local searches.

If you are going to perform local seo you will also want to leverage video marketing(which can be added to help with rankings in Google Places), annotations from other directories, backlinking, on page factors and all the other traditional tactics used to develop search rankings.

Local search ranking is not as hard a global search ranking due the sheer fact that at the moment there is not a lot of competition. Most businesses have no idea how to search engine optimize their site.

Thanks for the info Ron but I am still a little confused... intuit says that their "WebListings helps boost your visibility on over 100 critical search & directory sites, including Google Maps, Yahoo! Local, and Bing Maps"

so I am wondering if i missed something when you said "the service is limited to sending information to 4 directories"

also as i stated above "I know nothing about seo"

so the rest of your post went a little above my head! lol

not your fault... I am just a complete newbie when it comes to some of this stuff, but I can make a great looking website!

I am still wondering if anyone has actualy used intuits weblisting services.

or if there is an alternative that is just as easy that will give my customers some good local search traffic...

remember that it has to be super simple for me to not get lost!

anyways thanks for your time trying to help a dummy like me!

Search and read "UBL is a scam".

    FYI, UBL charged more.

If you're new with this, search and buy 3 WSOs:

    "Google Places cheat sheet"
    "Google Places Advanced"
    "Offline Video Bazooka"

Those are only 3 WSOs I had proof myself, and should be more than enough to impress and make bank with your client.

    Best of luck
