I am curious has anyone had any success getting clients on twitter on this forum? I recently joined twitter and was able to get 100 followers fairly quickly. On Fiverr you can pay someone $5 to send it out to there 15,000 followers. Just curious what everyone's experience with twitter is?

Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn all take time. Don't waste your money on 15k followers. Who cares how many followers you have, it's how many relationships you can build.

Search.twitter is one of the best websites out there. Use it to find people that share the same interests as you and start building relationships. Engage with people. So many people (I'd be willing to guess 95%) use Twitter to "push" their product on you. It's a shame people use it that way.

I have made quite a few "friends" on Twitter with people I have never met face-to-face, but have also made quite a few that I hang out with here in town.

I promise you if you use it to listen, educate and engage with people, your business will grow big time.

    It's not a race, it's a marathon.

I use twitter to lead prospects back to my blog, where i try to sell them on my products. I agree that alot of people use twitter to spam their marketing message, but with the right strategy and a targeted group of people on your twitter friend list, you can find potential clients through all the madness.

Are you leading your twitter followers to your sales page or to a blog or site that gives them more info or a freebie?

I really hate when people spam my twitter timeline with their products. I wont mind if it is once in awhile but if there are too many then I'll definitely unfollow that person.

if you're looking to add twitter to your arsenal of marketing channels, i would suggest u get TweetAttacks.

Many people misused this application for spamming others, as if they didn't know that it simply does work when it comes to spamming

But in terms of running a business, and managing your customers who would require whatever services or products you supply, than this would really take the load off

I know it may sound harsh, but if you're hiring people to manage twitter for your biz, the application would probably replace 5 labor power

    Cheers!

I feel like whenever I use twitter I am just speaking very quietly in a bustling train station. Anyone else feel like that?

I have a twitter account with 16,000 followers and I find it's not that great for generating leads. Mind you, I started the account with a topic niche focus and followed back similar topic niche accounts. But once my account hit 2000 followers, I got overwhelmed with tons of non-focused followers - so marketing to them yields next to nothing.

My personal account has a modest 300 followers and has much better interaction with my followers.

Like that somebody told above, I use twitter to lead prospects back to my blog, where i try to sell them on my products, too. And this is enough. I must say, that for all things here, mostly for some good business, you need time, I think that in most cases is this year and more !!
