I need help understanding this one

I took on a client about 2 months ago who was getting no rankings for his website. I made a view onpage changes and in a few days he was on page one. He then told me he had another site with the same domain name as the first, but it was .com instead of .net. He said he had problems getting this domain to work in order to make a site with it. I told him for a fee of course I would make it work.

Here is the part I need help with. I created the site on 4/23/11 and I checked the pr the other day, because I was showing a friend what pr is, and it was a pr2 already. The site is airtempcontroldotcom

Any thought as to how this can be a pr2 already would be greatly appreciated.

I think it depends if the domain was in possession of someone else before (maybe that someone else really did a great job). I think this is an explanation of the PR2 thing.

Google maybe still consider the PR of original domain name! It may have not updated his database! Maybe you will lose after next updating!
