I had an appointment this afternoon(which was a referral). The guy wants a new site, seo, and logos. I am working on getting everything together to present to his partner. What would you charge for a logo?

$15 but add it into the rest of the package with the web design and SEO, and make it seem as though he is getting free logo creation for his website.

For $15 it might as well be free!

Like jtlucas said, adding it to a package is ideal, but if separate, I would say like $100.

If you use IF then 15$ but if you make it from scratch 100$ is a fair price

Depends on the rights you have to buy to use it. If it is for a client, you want to be sure that you have the rights on the graphics to resell it. If you are going to make it yourself, make sure your rights to clipart or whatever you are going to use are clean for the transfer of ownership or at least the use for a commercial for profit venture.

if you are going to use an outside designer, better to be even more careful. You do not want to be left holding the bag on a digital rights use violation.

What you charge depends upon your skill firstly, the size of the business and what they ultimately expect from you.

$15 for a logo? ....thats a bit low, don't you think?

In January I sold a logo package, for $800. I know every business can't pay that (though some can pay much more) but I'd agree with Webcore, may as well just give it to them.

It depends on what and who it's for, what rights you retain, and the quality you output. Some logos are very simple and are worth no more than $15 dollars, but can still suit the needs of the client. You just never know.

Think I'd pay you $100 for a few layers of color here and there? Not complex, but something I can't do myself, but which any other artist could do in his sleep. However if the logo you output is complex, intricate, took swat and blood, then that's a different matter entirely.

I think $100 is a good price. If you have Photoshop, you could probably use customizable PSD logo templates for inspiration.
