Holiday Marketing Ideas for a Florist

I met with a guy last week and he asked if I could come up with some different, unique ways for promoting his flower shop around the holidays.

He is somewhat collecting email addresses and I told him about SMS and he is open to the idea.

I am asking for the creative minds here on the Warrior Forum to give me a hand.

I appreciate any/all help

    Run quick local PPC ads. Run an ad in the newspaper offering something for free. Rent a mailing list and target people in your local area who fit the demographic via direct mail. Run a christmas promotion where they offer discounts to their existing customers, and not-so-deep discounts to prospects. Offer info products for $7 on how to maintain the health of your flowers. Contact past customers on a monthly basis. Go online and set up an email newsletter promoting their $7 product. This will be a way to take their business nationally.

      Either you or the business owner should contact local banquet halls and hotels. Talk to the banquet manager and ask if they have anyone specific who handles the table floral arrangements for Christmas and Holiday parties. Hotels and banquet halls are busy with office holiday parties this time of year.

      You could also try calling businesses themselves (ones with more than 50 employees) and try to find out who is in charge of their office Christmas party. Then contact that person and try to work out a deal for your florist to handle the floral arrangements and table centerpieces...or employee gifts...or any other reason they'd need a florist for.

      If I think of other ideas, I'll post them too.
