Any way to block those annoying ads on YouTube videos?

If I embed a video on my site (my sitemaker only allows Youtube -- crap, I know!)... but those pesky ads pop up during playback, which aren't bad, but they take up the bottom 1/4 of the friggin video screen.

Any way to turn the ads off?

The way I do it is by using Firefox (Might also work w/Chrome...Not sure though) and run the AdBlock Plus plug-in...works like a charm!

Find the direct website over at - adblockplus <dot> org

      Hope that helps?

I think the OP is talking about how to keep the popups provided by youtube from appearing when his customers come to his site.

In that case firefox wont help unless all of his customers have firefox with adblockers.

I dont think you can do it unfortunately but.....

Tell me more about your sitemaker only allowing youtube to be embedded. who is it?

If you are interested I can give you a free simple script and you can embed any swf in there and then you can tell youtube goodbye.

    peace,

    Robert

I'm pretty sure it happens when you have music on your videos that is copyrighted to someone. Is that the case?

I bet that's it... I re-edited and switched songs in the process. It's not doing it any more. I didn't put 2 and 2 together like that... I hope that was it!

Also, @instanpaypalcash, the sitemaker is Wix.com. Mega-easy to use, at least till I learn Wordpress, lol!

Videomaker is Animoto. The first song and the song I changed to are both part of Animoto's offerings. However, no ads when I switched to the second song. Woohoo... for now!

No there is no way you can do that, but youtube has to pay the bandwidth expenses somehow... So i don't mind them if it is the price I have to pay for a cool platform like youtube, then okay

Yep, pretty sure it's the music. That has happened to me before too. I put basically the same video back up with different music and it was fine. I just try not to put any URL's and such at the bottom. But I wouldn't worry too much about it anyway really. People are so used to those ads by now, I'm sure many, if not most, just ignore them or close them without really thinking about it.
