Need Your Help With Google Places Please!!

Ok so I'm starting out to do Google Places listings for local businesses and my question is if the business owner has not verified or placed the business listing on google themselves, do I open an account for them or does the business owner have to do it themselves??

You see I'm looking for leads and going through businesses with poor Google Place listings and then calling them for me to help them get on Googles first page but when I came across businesses not "owner verified" I got a bit stuck, so what do you guys think? Thanks

Steve

I will usually open a gmail account for everything i set up(all review and citation sites including Google Places) then I just hand the email login info to them and we both have access to it.
If the listing is not verified then you will need to be in contact with the business owner as Google will call with a pin number you will need to enter to claim the page for them. If the NAP has recently been changed or is new then they will have to verify by post card.

Agreed. Create a gmail account that you turn over to the owner when you're done. I don't think you can transfer ownership of a Google Places account so you don't want to do it in your email address.

I claim between 50-100 and upto roughly 200 citation and review site listings. I was just talking about Bing on my mobile, local search and social media forum.
Bing does not show me the results Google does however you still need to claim it for sure. I have a bottom package that claims 10-20 sites depending on the business. This gets enough citations to show solid results, especially in easier markets.

This all sounds great! I would say the best thing is def to set up a seperate account so you and the boss have access to it.
