Do you use tools for client's site analysis?

This is about offline SEO.

Do you guys use tools for potential client's site analysis?
This is like...when a potential customer is shopping around for SEO service then he typed
in his site details in Request for free quote.

Then we will come up to him with the quote as well as with the free site analysis.
But do you guys use tool for this? Or any formatting guidelines that I can follow, sort of template.

For one we never do free site analysis work. If you set that expectation from the beginning you teach your clients not to respect the value of your time. We charge upfront for our analysis and then we give them about 40% of it back as a one-time discount if they purchase SEO services. We've tried it all different ways, but that is what we've found attracts the right kind of client.

Secondly, we use tools, sure, but only to inspect or collect the data, etc... We do not deliver a cookie-cutter analysis and that's how we charge for it because we deliver a custom and very thorough analysis.

The analysis is your chance to both (a) set the tone with your future client and the relationship you will or will not have with them and (b) impress them with your expertise. Doing an automated analysis for free accomplishes very little in my opinion.

There is no such thing as a free lunch especially in business. Hehe.
I agree Troy Broussard about impressing your clients with your expertise. I think your expertise is the very foundation of your business' competitive advantage over others.
