Selling at local malls

Hi,

We're getting ready to branch out at a couple malls and welcome camaraderie - i.e. fun & fellowship with like-minded mall folks If you have any resources to share like:

blogs about selling via malls
mall event marketing
mall marketing ideas
webinars about selling / marketing at malls

etc., luv to check them out and share what we have, too.

    Are you going to open a kiosc at the mall?

    Or are you going to walk around and survey people? (this works great btw especially if you offer them an incentive when they are done such as a FREE report or gift or something in exchange for their info.) Maybe even send them to an affiliate email submit for a chance to win a prize. hint hint.

    Or are you going to just spam the cars in the parking lot with handbills?

    There are a few considerations to think of. some mall owners may frown on you doing this type of thing in their mall but dont let that stop you just be aware of it.

    The worst they will do is ask you to stop.

    I think the mall could be lucrative especially for affiliate offers but I recommend you just collect emails while you are there and then sell to them through your autoresponder.

    If you are handing out leaflets that could work too especially for email submit type of offers.

    The only problem I see is the mall staff getting mad.

    The main thing to do is layout your plan, train your team and test it out. You have nothing to lose.

      Hi,

      Actually we are hosting educational / training classes there (how to start and grow biz and buz & computer / writing workshops). And the mall asked us to help market for them and the vendors, so neat opportunity - -and we'll be helping sell all types of things: clothing, jewelry, local foods, etc. All tangible, too, not affiliate online stuff. This is back to basics selling.

      The survey is a great idea to kick things off with merchants (JV ideas, etc.) Thanks for that! We're working with the mall marketer directly, too, so should work out great.

      That's awesome. So, basically you'll become to go-to marketing guru for the mall. Cha ching! Congrats!

      Show them some video presentations based upon your services. For example, how to use social media for their business. Offer a free report, that will grab them! Lots of businesses would love to jump on the social media bandwagon but don't know where to start.
