Facebook fan page Idea

After looking over several posts, I had an idea about Facebook fan pages and I wanted to see if anyone has tried this with any luck.

Quite a few Warriors for Hire are offering to make a fan page that includes a email capture. We can then in turn pitch it to our potential clients as a service and one method for finding new leads.

Has anyone tried this method for finding leads for their Offline Consulting business in their local area? My initial theory would be to create the page, then log in under my personal Facebook account and "like" the page. This would show up on my personal feed and hopefully generate some more "likes" from friends and friends of friends.

So, what are your thoughts warriors? Bad idea, good idea, somewhere in the middle?

    Not quite sure of your plan. You want to create a custom Fan Page for a business that doesn't have one and then try to grow the Page for them? Then try to sell them the Page?

    I prefer finding clients with a page already that needs Likes and Custom Landing Page.
    Contact them with a plan to do both.

      No sir, I would like to build a fan page for MY Offline Consulting business. It would seem that if I could attract 30 or 40 leads in a few days, or two weeks, then I could prove to a client that I could do the same for him/her.
