#1 piece of advice for any marketer is...

Know as much as possible about whatever it is you're offering. I'm not saying sit there and learn for weeks w/o taking action but try to stay current with everything in your field. If you can answer more questions and provide top notch high quality info, people will feed off of your confidence and buy from you because your clients are not buying your service, they are buying you. I feel your expert knowledge is your biggest and strongest weapon.

That is a good answer, but being selective about your clients would be even better.

You said a mouthful! This is true because publicly, there is so much misinformation on the Internet fill a boat-load junk. People are starved for solid direction and good information. When you find someone willing to give you that…well, that’s what you need.

Yeah, when you know enough about something suddenly you go from 'selling' a product to genuinely 'discussing' a need. Customers appreciate this far more than most people appreciate.

Top advice, straight to the point. That is why you see all of us coming here. we all want more info and we want to learn from people who really have the info and the confidence.

If you learn your craft and you begin to teach it to your audience with confidence, they don't have a problem to borrow money or go without food to pay you for that info.

Show people you are not just a sales person but an info juice machine. You also need to know how to simplify things to make lives easier.

At the end of the day people buy off people but more importantly people they like. I've been selling UK financial services for over 20 years and if a prospect likes you they will look for reasons to buy. If they don't like you, no matter how good your expertise is they will look for reasons not to buy.

If you're a likeable person with great knowledge & expertise then you've cracked it.

that's one of the "basic" rules of Marketing. but most of us still avoid it, thanks for reminding us about the same. the more we know about our product/service the more we can speak about it and it will definitely serve our goal in a positive way.

lack of knowledge on the other hand will adversely effect any Marketing campaigns.

You need knowledge of the services you are providing the small business owner, but the key to success is building relationships. Yes, you must able to do the job, but most small owners want to do business with people they enjoy working with.

Education is one most important, how can you sell a $2,500 a month contract if you don't know how to perform the work? I know you can outsource...but I only suggest that after you understand how to do it yourself first.
Second is mindset, you mentally have to change the way you think to earn a large income online. Its very different than any 9 to 5 job you EVER had....

My #1 piece of advice to this forum is a rhetorical question....

If you can't figure out how to sell your own services to other people, then why do you believe that you can help them sell?

People know! Its a funny thing when dealing with smart people. You don't have to tell them everything! You only have to share key tidbis of insight and wow! They get it. Then you now have competition where you didn't have before. So people know they just don't share all their knowledge publicly.

I would agree with that, but I also think you need to take what skills you have and get out there and start getting business. There's a certain paralysis that takes over when you think you have to master all this stuff before you start presenting yourself to businesses. Having said that, I do agree that the more you know the better. Potential clients can sense that I know a great deal about what I'm talking to them about, because I do and it shows through my speech and the questions I ask them. I guess all I'm saying is learn enough, then don't wait on perfection.

Strong valid point. If you wait to know everything you'll never do anything.

It is this enough that people need to understand and to get to know what really is enough.

If you jump from this to that, you never attain enough to go out there. Get focused, learn enough, have enough info and GO out there.

You have got to be willing to learn enough and get focused on learning that enough and thoroughly understand enough.

Once you have it, don't waste anymore time trying to add to enough you already have. Just buckle some courage and run with your enough.
