My Websites For Doctors/Dentists Ranking Near Top of Google

I purchased 6 domains that all are, "citydoctors. com", or "citydentists. com"
These are large cities in Califronia. I threw up a quick Wordpress page on each of them, used All in One SEO plugin, titled the sites and pages with the domain names..... and that was it. On the main page I wrote that this site is for sale, and gave my contact email. After a few days now, ALL are ranking high on the first page of Google (one is in the second position).

Well, I looked up a bunch of Dentists/Doctors in those cities and emailed them informing them that I was taking offers for the sites, gave the link, told how high they're ranking, suggested they could use them as a redirect to their existing site.........

It's only been a couple of days since the emails went out, but I've had NO responses. Do you think it's too early to expect any replies? I'm wondering how long those sites will rank high in Google without any further content added to them.

Anyone with experience with this method care to share what to expect?
Maybe the Doctors/Dentists niche was not a good one to go after? Thanks

Congratulations on the ranking. I do believe a little more leg work is required, at least call them, I have seen guides that touch on techniques to get by the gate keepers.

Consider offering an exclusive deal to effectively take over the site, branding it with the Doctor's name, this sort of offer can be worded to incite a competitive bidding war, since it's a limited commodity, unlike the traffic boost offer.

I heard of people having luck by actually going to the business and pitching the website there.

For a decent sales price, you're going to need to ramp up your sales process - -probably with face to face.

But remember - most dentists are probably clueless about running a website (apologies to those dentists out there who are not).

So you are either going to need to run the site for them or include training on how they can run the site. Even then, they will probably want you to oversee some of the site management (organising the hosting, setting up email etc).

They are dentists. They spent years getting good at fixing bad teeth. Not websites.

I fell foul of this exact assumption - that artisans and specialist professionals would want to learn how to run their own site. Sensibly, what I found most such business people said was "I am an expert in [whatever field], not websites - you do it for me".

It is like outsourcing - you focus on your strengths. Theirs is teeth.

What I ended up doing, rather than selling the sites I built and got great search engine ranking for, I now run the sites myself (all fully automated).

The site capture leads (names, emails and mobile numbers) of visitors/customers who want a personalised quote etc, and passes the lead/contact details automatically to the professional for them to contact the customer.

I have an agreed commission per lead. I then invoice the professional at the end of each month. It is relatively easy ongoing money – and, worst case, (hopefully it should never happen) if the professional decides to do the dirty and fail to pay me, then I simply take the leads, past, present and future, and sell them to his competitor.

If you could include leads generated by the sites that would get their attention.

Yes, Going the lead gen route maybe the route to take. I read another post earlier today about a guy that is selling leads from sites like these.

Instead of selling the site...or offering leads...I would do this:

Get a really, really clean design done that matches the domain name. Set up four advertising spots on the homepage. The top spot is large and almost looks like the sites header. It is formatted to look like one of those val-pak direct mail ads.

The three spots below that one are about half as big, but still look very nice.

Start mailing letters to the local docs offering them this advertising space. Keep the SEO going and get it ranked high for more and more terms.

Sell the top ad spot for $400/mo or some similar figure. Sell the big one first, then contact all the people who said no and start selling the small ones. Work your way down.

    Sell #2 for $300/mo
    Sell #3 for $200/mo
    Sell #4 for $100/mo

On the other pages through the site, repeat the ads on every page with the smaller ones spread lower and lower into the content.

Put them on an auto re-bill. Use PHP includes for each ad so that when your advertiser changes, you just change the ad in one place instead of every page on the site.

These professionals are used to buying advertising. You will find much less resistance than if you are selling them a website and you will make a lot more money.

do you want a potentially never ending recurring income from these sites or just a one off sale?
Personally Id go for the former and set up some lead gen on there and sell the leads for a monthly fee to the highest bidder (on a three/six/twelve monthly contract then invite new bids) , focus on the most profitable services to them = more $$$/£££ for you

The problem of selling to professionals (ie. dentists, doctors, lawyers etc) is that all of them, dare I say, don't take care of e-mails themselves. This means that when you send a potential prospect an e-mail about your services the receptionists are more likely to read them and trash them.

I've had much more success with e-mails in industries where the owner is the one who is reading the e-mail as they have a much more vested interest in their business and are more likely to respond to an enticing offer.

Doctors, dentists, lawyers etc. mostly have gate keepers and most, if not all, of them never even saw your email. if you want to get to them, you will have to do more than sending an email. Of the three you mentioned, dentists tend to be a little down to earth. These professional guys get hit all the time with all sorts of stuff so you are among a big group. Your idea is good but you will have better success with painters, plumbers, etc, guys who don't have the "air" about them and appreciate a working guy like yourself trying to help them out. They would be more fun to have a beer or two with also.

This is very common. People love to sell the idea of the lead gen site and how valuable it is to the right business, but the truth is that the ones that could benefit the most are nearly impossible to get to. If you target a type of business where you can't get the owner on the phone...good luck.

As people have already mentioned, we have a few sites that should be a goldmine for lawyers, they get visitors every day in super competitive markets, but good luck trying to sell this to them. They must just get slammed with emails and letters, etc... and just ignore it all now. Blue-collar guys are still buying though.

Congrats on getting the sites to rank well after only a few days.

I would suggest you let them age a month or two before offering
them up for sale or lease. If they lose their luster after you transfer
them to a client, it may cause buyer's remorse.

If they retain their ranking after a month or two - you can generally
    offer them with few problems.

Hotlinkz offers important info here Also, don't email them......They will NOT reply! Drop in personally. Bring some chocolates for the gatekeeper!

Hey! I do web design/seo for dentists: Internet Dental Marketing and Website Design for your Practice

I can tell you that it takes a lot of work to close a Dentist. A lot of follow up calls, etc. you might even need to speak to the "office manager" and pitch them too and they might tell the doc to make a move (I've seen this happen many times). They have the $$$ to spend on Web Design and SEO.

    Thanks,
    Ahmad
