Facebook Newbie Seeing A Client For FB and Consulting: Any Quick Tips?

I'm very active in the mobile site/QR Code world, but a TOTAL NEWB in the Facebook world! I've been trying to force myself to be active in there, as I'm sure it works, I just can't get past my hate of social media

A car dealer I prospected a month ago, for a mobile site and full fledged consulting, has called me back because they have been wowed by a FB/Twitter account builder and manager, yet still want my quote and/or advice. I have NO intention to take that bizz away for the other guy, but want to find ways to complement what he'll do without taking that much time... and let me close the mobile site too.

I just bought a very good WSO by Dr Ben Adkins (Thirty3Down WF name). Without giving away any of his WSO, it's a simple yet effective way to combine QR Codes with FB Likes - you have a hidden page (usually a coupon or discount) that will show once the prospect likes the page so it's a good list builder. I'm a FB newbie but I caught fast with his explanation the use of having "fans" "liking" the page. It's classic list building, using FB messaging system.

For the car dealer, I figured I'd use a Client Value Calculator with them first, talk FB and Twitter in general terms and what the "other guy" would do, ask them if they will use coupons & build lists with the social media tactics or not, and of course tell them about building lists with the QR Code... and a mobile site too.

I'm open to any suggestions or a link to a good "FB/Twitter for dummies" kind of thing to be up to speed in social media...

What I don't fully get, is if it's not good etiquette to market on social media, what does a car dealer gets by being on social media platforms? And how do they go about it?

Thanks
