Is there hope for me with offine web design?

I got one person interested in my service but that person came across my website and contacted me. his is oversea's and is sending a check now.
but the question is why did he contact me and not someone from my area. (i have the site ranking number 2 on yahoo and bing. for web design in my area, and i gotten about 40 searchs that came from my state this week.

I understand that I will have to do more than just wait for people to contact me to get more clients. but with all the stuff out there and idea's I do not know which one I should take in action.

I just want results, after all money for me is starting to become a rare treat for me.

    Take your efforts offline...
    Write a little personalized sales letter, and go hand deliver it to the business owners in your neighborhood. It works wonders. Gives you an excellent chance to start building relations with them.

      Start out with your friends and companies their working on.Tell them that you are doing this and that,So they will contact you if they see a opportunity in the company.
      Be the expert in your community.Involve in community projects/church and do one or two them for free.It will spread your name.
      Lookfor websites that having poor designs,SEO in your area and let them know the how they will get benefit after optimizing the page and how they will able to stay ahead than others.
      First two three is the hardest.They money will roll in.

        let your friends, families and any organizations you belong to know more about your services, you can start by offering some of these services free, they will help to spread the news on your behalf, but you got to be patience.

    If you sit down with a phone book you could be two hours of calling away from $1,000. Taking the time each day to set appointments for yourself will work if you work it, and its worth it.

    Another note to the OP...

    I know you need encouragement, and that is here obviously. We all know it can be done...

    Here's the question:

    "In my hoping and anguish and expressing... and all this... what am I DOING"?

    When you ask that, then it will become obvious what needs to happen, and how easily discouragement can turn into simply just doing something... and "doing something" works.

    Is what Im feeling normal? Yes.

    Is wasting any more time feeling it getting me closer to my goal?

    No.

    If I get in action will it feel differently? Yes.

    Will it be moving me toward money? Yes.

    If I stay in action will I make money very soon? Yes.
