Making money with SMS Busines

Hi All:
I am working on a business plan as I ramp up my text marketing and mobile website business. I'm trying to determine my potential monthly income possible. My question is regarding text messaging. From the calculations I've made, it seems the average amount per client is about $60/month. So if I want to make $4500/month, I would need 75 clients. Is it even possible to service this many clients? I have nightmares of being a constant customer service rep getting phone calls night and day. Can anyone elaborate on how many clients they have and what type of monthly income you are making please?
Also, I have been doing some training under two SMS providers and they contradict each other. One says offer one month free and the client won't quit after that because they will get so many customers in the first month it will be a no brainer to continue on. The second provider says it takes at least three months to see measurable results and that you would disappoint the client by saying that it would only take one month, therefore don't offer the first month free.
I would appreciate people's insights into these two items. Thanks MK

I would go with the "3 months to see measurable results" provider, that is much more realistic. Always be conservative in your estimates. To build a mobile list you have to create a compelling reason why someone will cough up their mobile phone number and join the list. A 10% off coupon is not going to cut it most likely. Its not like giving a throw away email address. People keep their cell numbers for years, even when changing providers.

It is a good idea to give the first 30-45 days free so they can get the list going and get some subscribers. When someone subscribes to a list, I make sure the business owner gets a text automatically letting them know that someone just joined their list. That keeps them in the loop and keeps them excited. Otherwise they just get caught up in their daily routine and forget about the whole thing.

Don't expect employees to promote the heck out of your campaign either. They could care less and really don't want to do any more work than they have to. The business owner has to take some charge in promotion.

Remember that this stuff is totally new and foreign to most biz owners so you do have to do some educating along the way. Having 75 clients would be great, but if they don't see some results and return in the way of more business, they will just drop it and say it doesn't work.

Thanks for your input. Yes I am going with the second provider, just taking advantage of the training from both. I am going to focus on appointment reminders first, I even have one doctor signed up.
Do you concur that my $60/month/client is about right? Thanks again.
