Sick amounts of success with video method

Been awhile since I posted here, as i officially quit the day job and started a full-time business! With paperwork, setup, clients, marketing, etc things have been nuts.

But without WF I never would have taken the plunge and had success. So wanted to come back and share a method thats been closing clients like nuts!

Its a simple video method, but it works wonders. Its good to use on prospective clients who you need to impress to close the deal, and also on existing clients to keep them engaged and happy.

Basically I create a video on youtube or dailymotion with a semi-competitive keyword phrase in the clients niche. For example, if you are in Nashville, Tenn it might be "Dentist in Nashville TN."

I optimize the entire video title, description, content, all around this keyword. Theres a little bit of a learning curve of trial and error but eventually I got it down. Then I add a set amount of backlinks to the video, ping it, post it on a few social media sites, and within hours (sometimes longer/shorter) it pops up on page 1 for the semi-competitive long tail keyword!

And boy does this impress people. I had a Dentist on Monday who was "I dunno, I've been promised the world before" and I created the video of his website with a few fancy transitions, got it on page 1, emailed him a link with an email that said: "I am not like my competition, and here is proof that I'm capable of doing what I say I'll do."

Within an hour he had emailed me back asking me to contact him. I didnt reply and within 2 hours he called saying "I want to go ahead and design a new website like you were talking about and advance with the monthly seo package." Bam wam, check in hand!

Another client might be thrilled being on page 1 for a keyword, but still wants more. what do i do? optimize a video on another keyword, get it on page 1, and he's thrilled and refers me to his business buddies.

Plus, there are ways to optimize the videos where sometimes they stay on page 1 for a few days, or sometimes a few months.

There are tons of ways to prospect people....GET TO IT, AND GOOD LUCK!

Good to hear, another thing you can do with your youtube videos is add captions and subtitles. Make sure you use (speak) your main keyword thorough out the video. You can have the video transcribed pretty cheap, just Google it. Then add the captions and subtitles. It appears Google / Youtube must check these for keywords.

I sometimes use powerpoint. But mostly I'll do something like have a screenshot with music that says for example:

"Looking for a Dentist in the Nashville, TN area? Dr. Blah has been in business for 22 years strong. Call today and feel comfortable taking care of all your Dental needs."

Then I'll have a transition to the website with music where i just highlight the about us info and stuff like that. Thats mainly what i do to impress the clients im trying to 'woo'

But for exisiting clients i usually do something more professional with generic pictures and stuff.

I have a few methods on how I approach business owners. One thing is in common though, they are all already paying for some sort of advertising. These are the companies who I want to work with.

I dont waste my time trying to 'convince' someone to advertise. Not worth it...

So cold calls, direct mail, and I have a pretty good method I use to get through gatekeepers which I give to my telemarketers.

Once you have someone interested, and they are on the fence, you slap the video on page 1 and PROVE you know what you're doing for free. They are flabbergasted (sp?) because they expect you to sell them hard with no proof.

In order to target another country, I dont know because I'm in the USA, but I'd imagine if you emailed businesses and offered a free page 1 video about their business to prove you can improve their bottom line, they might jump at it. Its all numbers. Email 100, hope 2 take you up on the offer. Hope 1 turns into a client.

I use camtasia. Any free program will work. Or you can outsource the video for 5 bucks. Yes, there are some costs because I outsource the backlinks, submission to some directories, etc. But spending 10-15 bucks to potentially land a $400 a month client is well WELL worth my time and money...

Hey, its nothing 'secret' or anything but it took me some time to figure out.

I optimize the title and description similarly around my long-tail keyword, plus I post it in a certain category depending on the business.

Best place for backlinks is right here in the wf, or somewhere cheap. All you need is maybe 100 and you're gold.

I submit to places like twitter and use pingler or something like that to expedite the process.

Basically its a combination of proper prospecting ( i have a pretty unique method with google ads) and proper video optimization.

what this does is get QUALIFIED prospects that you show RESULTS to. This leads to long-term clients!

hey fivver is good for videos if you find the right person. or just do it yourself with a free program.

i will also use fivver for the backlinks, directory submission, etc.

This can all be done myself, but its worth 10-15 bucks to get it over with. im confident if you had 6 clients that were 50/50 about working with you, and you spent $90 on a video for each one, 3-4 would probably proceed and write you big monthly checks.

They might not all do it at once, but you may get one or two off the bat, and the others may come a few weeks later.

and the ones that dont do it were never good prospects in the first place because you showed them your talents and they still dont 'get it.'

Congrats Jeremy! You are now in the ranks of the elite few who are brave, and making it on your own. I'm glad to hear WF was a part of your success story...

I've been meaning to go into offline... that's good that you have a presentation. Make sure you have upsells and such as well. If the video does a good job with conversions, maybe you can put the upsells in along with it! Then all you have to do is focus on making the potential client like you and he'll want to be in business with you!

Yea, you should start scaling up and outsourcing functions soon so you can be less busy and spend more time on WF with your tips . Good luck!

Thanks for the comments. To answer your question,no, I've never considered a wso with offline tips. Figured there were a lot out there already.

And to be honest, i'm a bit hesitant sometimes to put my exact strategies out in the open because they can be abused if not done right. i dont ever mind sharing what im doing, but how im doing it is another story.

However, this forum has taught me a lot and i will look into a potential product outlining my client aquisition method from start to finish.

I mean i transition to the website with a transition effect in the video. Like ill actually have their website and ill be talking in the video and ill be clicking on their website in the video, going through their services and stuff.

The videos show up on page 1 of google!! Thats why its so effective!

Think about this: I've put a free video about their company on page 1 of google. they havent paid a dime! its poweful stuff.

What are you doing for the recurring monthly charge? Creating a new video a month or something or charging it as a maintenance fee to keep the video high.

I always put a link to the google search, or tell them to search themselves.

The beauty is you can say anything: "Here's a little video I made to show I'm capable of doing what I say I'll do."

          or

"Figured instead of telling you everything I can do, I'd just show you. Take a look."

Ron, I dont charge monthly just for videos. I do comprehensive seo for my clients like articles, press releases, citations, videos, backlinks, etc. So I'll do a video once in awhile just to keep them interested and excited.

The monthly payment includes all my work, although i split it over a period of months so its more effective and time efficient.

If you are just 'showing off' being on the first page is enough. Most of the time you will be top 3-5 anyway. Especially if you really do your homework and find some good lsi keywords

For example: instead of "dentist in tampa fl"

it would be "dental crowns tampa fl"

After having done exhaustive research on multiple niches to find lsi keywords, i can always find a way to get a video up top and impress the client. More times than not this is actually the best way to generate business. I'll use the dentist as an example again:

Rather than "dentist in tampa fl" someone might search for "teeth whitening tampa fl" and if your video comes up with a title that says **Special** - $99 Teeth Whitening Tampa FL - Call (555) 555-5555

Your dentist is gonna get some calls and be happy.

Now the hard part is finding all those keywords for different niches, but they are there for the taking!

                Hi Jeremy,

Yeah, I see what you mean. As we are just 'showing off' in order to convince potential clients that we can actually deliver what we say we will - then going for more LSI/long tail keywords that are even easier to rank a YouTube vid for is a great idea.

So as you say, rather than going for 'lawyer houston' (which might have more competition anyway), we might go for something like 'best lawyer in houston' or something like that.....?

You can do it like that, but think of it like this.

If you get charged for a crime because you had a weapon, you may type in "lawyer houston" when looking for help.

But what happens if you search "weapons charge attorney houston." Hmmmmmm? Suddenly whoever pops up is gonna get a new client. So not only is it less competition, but more targeted.

So yes, "best attorney" or "cheapest dentist" would work but find the niche within the niche..ie. "bathtub plumbing houston."

                  good luck!

Wow - thanks Jeremy, I see what you are doing there:

You are still ending up with a keyword phrase that is more longer-tail and virtually no SEO competition (i.e. easy to get a youtube vid ranked for it in no-time at all), but you are also keeping it super relevent to the niche/business too.

                    Genius! Thanks.

    Great advice on this thread!
I've had success ranking high using videos created free on animoto. Its a great tool if you just want to create a quick video.

    Cool idea!

What do you say in the email when you send the link?

i.e. do you just send a link directly to the video? or do you send a link to Google results and say something like 'click the top link for proof.....' etc ?

Thanks for the idea. I have been toying with the idea for a while but never had the inclination to try it. Until now!

    Hi Jeremy

Inspirational and motivating thread this one. Also wanted to comment on your keys to success, they are so true, yet not followed upon very widely as I have seen.

Thanks also for the tips, as I wanted to start doing offline work in my city, as there is no real competition here, and sites and blogs I have done for other people in my locale is bringing me the occasional client as well, which beats prospecting, when you have word of mouth working in your favour.
