I'm FINALLY Hiring B2B Telemarketers!

Hey Warriors!

So I own a web development/seo company - I have a handful of clients and I'm ready to start getting more business and get busier.

So I'm going to start and hire 2 telemarketers to cold call businesses such as dentists, plumbers, attorneys, realtors, etc. Each telemarketer will work part-time. 4-6 hours per day - 5 days per week.

My expectation for each telemarketer is at least 2 appts per telemarketer per day, so with 2 telemarketers that would be 20 appts per week - and I'm confident I can close at least 10% of those leads

My goal is to ramp up and have 10 to 50+ telemarketers/telesales reps working for me and generating 100k+ per month in revenue.

Warriors! DON'T EVER GIVE UP!

Thanks,
Ahmad

I'm going to hire 1 telemarketer from the Philippines and 1 from the U.S and see which performs better. I'm going to post job ads on a few big job sites.

I suggest you make certain they are quality telemarketers and not similar to what many here are using ( even some of the guru's ).
Callers truly get on my last nerve.

    Good luck,

      Hey Enterpryzman,

Yes I agree I always look for quality workers, I'm going through 100s of resumes and making sure I pick the top ones. I still haven't finalized anything.

Hey, I'm just curious why you are hiring them yourself as opposed to testing out a TM firm to test results, or maybe you have? Would be very interested as I'm going that route in a week myself. Hiring a firm to run a 25 hour test campaign that is.

I'd rather directly hire them myself because I'll have more control and it'll cost me less. I'll be doing a one week trial with each telemarketer to see performance, etc.

Be careful with those telemarketing companies. Ask enough questions!!

A lot of them talk you up real high, then you find out they only make 100 calls a week for what you are paying.

I've found that using a VERY direct strategy and calling yourself or finding someone on craigslist works better. paying $50 per appointment is worth it.

For an example of something highly direct, find the businesses paying for yellowbook featured listings, get the owners name, send an email with the owners name in the subject, website, etc.

    Then address him personally:

    Joe,

My name is Jeremy, and I have an Internet Media company. Don't mean to intrude, but I noticed you're dropping big bucks on yellowbook's featured listing, but you didnt show up in Google when I searched for a Physical Therapist in Orlando.

Anyways, my company works with businesses like yours, and gets page 1 google listings, rather than paying for these featured listings that dont generate much traffic. There are 220 average searches a month for a physical therapist in this area on Google -- thats a lot of traffic you're missing.

If you're interested or wont more info, my contact details are below. Take care.
    ---------------

Send 30 of those a day, and I promise you will get way more clients talking to you than if you sent 500 generic emails with no personal touch.

Thanks for the input! Yes that's why I want to directly hire my telemarketers and not hire a telemarketing firm. You have much more control!

Quick question, was there a reason why you decided on telemarketer vs direct sales team?

It's a number game and if your persistent you'll make solid money. I've seen the power of strong b2b telesales teams, and my goal is to have around 40 telesales reps 2 years from now.

atrbiz, if you have strong relationships with other businesses and use their services (accountant, graphic designer etc.), consider also using the power of referrals. This can work well in conjunction to what you'd like to do.

If they are good they'll work well for you, however i would try to start with locals in the area you want to target, they should be able to build a relationship with the business quicker if they have common ground.

Yeah, what's the status of this? I like the idea of hiring local and you can train them better. I have a good amount of success with cold calling cuz I don't sound like a sales person or as someone said "I don't sound like I'm going to rip them off." I think with so many people getting sales calls this is a way to stand out from the crowd.

It's been going great now actually I've been able to focus on expanding my business and have my sales team handle cold calling, etc. I have one full time appt setter and then either myself or a sales rep/VA I have will close the deal. I've been doing over $5k/mo in sales from new clients

          Joshua,

I tested a few telemarketers from the PH and they did ok(I'm still tweaking and testing different strategies for Filipino telemarketers. I'm still interviewing more and plan on growing my team but my primary telemarketer is actually U.S based...well worth the investment ...

I've been launching several other ventures so I've been busy, that's one of the reasons why I'm also looking to hire a sales manager who can just manage my entire sales process and team, etc.

Feel free to ask me questions when I'm on Skype.

          Thanks,
          Ahmad
