Let's Brainstorm Some QR Code Uses...

Reading through some of the QR Code threads has given me ideas on who to approach with a mobile site pitch. Here's just a few based on some people I know who run businesses...I thought if everyone would list some here, it might spur more creative ideas for folks.

Fruit and Produce Store owner
Could have qr's on various varieties of fruit and veggies linking to some videos of how they could be used...... different recipes, also, maybe where they came from (info on the local growers) etc.

Dairy Farmer
This guy sells bottled chocolate milk out of that store mentioned above. He promotes "natural milk", so he could put a qr on each bottle, with it going to a video of his farm operation, introduce some of the cows. Tell why he goes the natural route, etc.

Real Estate Agent
QR on the for sale sign, on the fliers, that let folks see a video of what the inside of the home looks like as they're sitting in their car on the street. Or, if not a video, scrolling pics of the home, etc

Artist
This would take some time, but I think it'd be cool to have a video of the artist at various stages of the painting. Maybe an interview with the artist in there too explaining what inspired the painting, why they chose the theme, colors, etc. Then, the finished product could have a QR Code tag attached, and as folks are looking at the painting, they scan the code, and the artist is right there on their phone, telling them about the painting they're looking at!

Musician (same as artist)

OK, these are just a few to get the ball rolling. Now let's see YOURS!!

Lots of people get this wrong because one by one is just too slow so maybe try this. You are not looking for businesses but those businesses that have the lists.

Fruit and Produce supplier to Store owner

Find the people who supply these stores and then do a deal with them to promote your business for you

    Dairy Farmer Supplier or distributors

Find out who your friend supplies to and who his suppliers are.

I think you get the idea. Don't sell mobile websites one by one sell them in bulk

Could you expand on this idea? So, if I go to the orchard grower, how do I get him/her to promote my biz to the places he/she supplies the fruit?

Great new looking site you have by the way. Does load faster!!

    Here is last weeks example.

I was at a salon and while was there a rep came in that does promotions for salons. I grabbed her card and met up with her for lunch. Turns out she has over 500 clients so we did a deal.

Probably not so easy for the orchard grower unless they supply shops indirvidually but maybe the co-op or their distributor.

Ice cream truck owner--put qr code on the side of truck that links to a web page with their regular neighborhood route and also includes a text opt in for weekly text messages with weekly specials.

    Restaurants:
Restaurants can use QR codes to connect to their mobile friendly site, menu cards, discount codes, location map, working hours and days, table reservations etc.

-Use QR codes to send people to a survey about the business (kind of like how they put a link to a survey site on your receipt and you can get a coupon or win money if you fill it out).

-Encourage people to check-in through Foursquare or leave a review on Yelp by linking to those sites with a QR code.

-Put a QR sticker on the bottom of a product and link it to a site online where people can reorder the product.

-Give out cards with QR codes so that people can distribute them to their friends and family as means of referring customers. The QR code can lead to a special "friends and family rate".

-Link the QR code to your Facebook page so that people can "like" your establishment while it's fresh in their mind.

Put QR codes on your own flyers you have made, post them in areas relevant to your affiliate offer. For example, make a flyer that includes FREE GAS TODAY!! and stick it on every gas pump you can find in your city. Have the QR code link to your appropriate affiliate offer and have the actual link on the page as well.

Rinse and repeat for all kinds of relevant affiliate offers.
