Best offline marketing solution?

Hey guys,
I run a classifieds web site for my local city. I haven't ranked on the first page yet for my main keyword (Name of the city), so that is my number one concern.
So far I've been doing:
Bill board posts
Got a hold of local college newspaper, suppose to get something going with them in the fall
Local craigslist ads
Adwords targeting only locals

Now, my question to you guys, in your opinion, what is better, do a TV commercial or Mass Mail cards? Honestly, I probably will end up doing both, but in your opinion, with which one should I start?

    ^ Drive more traffic to the site. I'm just thinking what will be more effective, TV ad or Mass Mail at first.

    you can extend the value of all the types of advert/marketing you describe here with mobile pages --- if anything throw up a QR code, short URL or a SMS marketing number/shortcode and get people interacting with all that.

    You can bring them to one place or many different places. If you're going to be offline marketing... always make sure you have a solid mobile extension of all those messages.

    Each mobile page should backlink to your main site, those are valueable links. I'd suggest some solid mobile landing pages, micro sites, opt-in pages etc on the mobile side.

    Start with your website. FIRST # 1 Have you done your onsite optimization?
    Meta tags, title description, sitemap, etc.
    SECOND # 2 Have you done offsite optimization? Backlinks, backlinks plus
    articles. If you want people to pay you for marketing THEIR websites, then
    you must first learn to market YOUR website.

    Probably the most insane idea I can think of is a media trick of some sort, like selling a house in one week or a new car owner in same day, you know? Something that can bring you some local media for free and instigate people to check the site out and participate. But as John noted, you haven't told us what YOU want to achieve.
