Help with Changing CNAME to re direct mobile site

Hello and thanks for taking the time to look at my question.

Okay I sold my first mobile site, had it built and approved by the client.
not it's time to get the site live!!!

My question is...

What is the correct process for re directing a domain to recognize a mobile site.

Say their regular site is xyzrestaurant.com

I had a mobile site built for a customer and i want to host it on my hosting account with a subdomain xyzrestaurant.myhostingaccount.com

I believe I have to set up a subdomain in the domain manager such as m.xyzrestaurant.com from their domain host.

If the above is correct, what do i do with the cname so it works nice and smoothly.

Thanks in advance!!!
Basil

    Uh....

In your code you'd need to detect if the user is on a mobile. If true--> redir them through PHP to the appropriate URL.

There's no way that I've seen of knowing if they've need a mobile version before they actually get to the site... so nothing can be done for a CNAME to do this, (unless I'm misunderstanding what you're asking).

      Thanks HIH,
Okay so all I need is a code to put on the main site?
How can I get that code do i need someone to write it or is there something I could copy, paste and edit. And the m.xyzrestauant.com would just forward to the hosted mobile site?
      Thanks!

You dont need to set up a subdomain on their site simply use a redirection script on their main site to xyzrestaurant.myhostingaccount.com

Pretty simple really and no need for cname etc.

Just do a search for redirection script

If their site is a wordpress site you can use a plugin

You don't need to change any name server unless you;re using an diffrent hosting server.
I just posted detailed instructions on how to install and redirect properly for mobile websites here http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...-included.html so everyone could benefit.

    Enjoy,
