what bounce rate starts to hurt the seo ranking?

I have a website that was on page 1, in spot 2 of yahoo and bing. and this week it is on page 4, I really do not understand what happened. could it be my bounce rate at a 60% or could it be something else. how do I fix the bounce rate?

I'm just starting a new site and my bounce rate is at about 65% but my rankings are still increasing. Does bounce rate effect older sites more than it would effect newer sites?

I have seen that a bounce rate around 40-45% is pretty solid. 60% is too high.

Google says it doesn't look at those stats last I heard...I don't believe them.

60% bounce is saying 6 out of 10 people that land on your page don't find it useful and leave.

They way to lower it is to make the page HIGHLY relevant to the search term they landed there with.

If the searcher types in dog training, and your page ranks but is about dog grooming, that is not highly relevant. It's only partly relevant to a "specific" search term, which will give you a higher bounce rate.
