SMS Information Needed...

Hi all! I am looking at adding SMS to my existing consulting services as a reseller. Frankly, I am "overwelmed" with information that is out there (VBX, Twilio, etc.) and I am looking for a simple soulution? Thanks in advance for any ideas!

    Hi Larry,

I looked at 30+ providers before going with Lime Cellular. They have a great platform offering qr codes, mobile coupons, mobile ads, text to win, text to vote, appt setter, everything is Facebook integrated, and texts are "true short code" at only .01-.015. Talk to Yuval.

    • Try yeptext. Easy to use and manage, and text messages run just under 3.5 cents each. Pretty cool.

        Hey Guys,

Is every business required to have a barcode scanner to use the coupon feature?

If so, how do you handle this?

        Thanks,

          Hi tnleverett,

I don't think anyone answered your question. On the Lime platform we provide reports for our clients showing "viewed" mobile coupons and also "redeemed" mobile coupons. So your client does NOT have to use a POS scanner. However they can or even use a smart phone to scan if they need more detailed info like time of sale or other items purchased.

      Hi Byte,

I have the white label program with Lime and am very happy. Great support and the features of the platform are the best. There are basically 3 packages:

      1. nothing upfront .015 per text and $9.95 per advertiser account and a $300 minimum monthly charge. They post bill after your 1st 30 days but I would still recommend lining up clients 1st then activating your acct. So you hit the ground running and cover the $300 monthly

      2. $1500 upfront same pricing as 1 except only $100 monthly minimum

      3. $3000 upfront and texts are only .01 and there are no monthly minimums. So if you are serious about building this business you will definitely use these credits ultimately so treat them like the commodity that they are and make 33% more profit once sold.

If you want to try out the platform signup for a free trial on my website seattlemobilesolutions dot com. If you have any other questions just send me an email.

So it is $9.95 per company I sign up. That includes 1 keyword? If i need more keywords for that account how much is it?

For number one. You are saying 1 and 1/2 cents per text? Or 15 cents per text?

It does include 1 keyword and you can get additional "vanity" or personal keywords for $2 or you can get unlimited free auto generated keywords which are simply 2letters and 2#s like cc23.

The texts are 1.5 cents or 1 cent if you prebuy 300,000

    A few more questions.

    1) Am I able to give a login name and pass for my clients if they want one. To text lists, and or set up appointment reminders. (I plan on doing all this, but I do know there may be one or two that want to have control)
    2) You said I get the bill after the 1st 30 days. So does that mean I can use as many texts as I want and they will bill me at the end of the month. I do not have to pre pay?
3)Do you need to pay for the opt in texts and opt out? I know some companys when I customer opts it, it sends them a thank you for signing up, then it sends the auto message you set up. So you get charged for 2 texts to sign up one person.

I am currently with trumpia, but have not moved to there white label just yet. Since I only have 2 NON PAYING customers at this time. (myself and a friend).
But I have been hearing a few bad things about trumpia, so I wanna get all the information I can about all white labels I can, before I sign up for the LONG HAUL!

      1. Yes your clients have full access to the platform and can generate qr codes, design mobile coupons and mobile ads with images and barcoding, obviously send texts, use the appt setter, run sweepstakes or text voting and surveys and everything is also facebook integrated. I use a hybrid approach where I send a weekly text for them and then they send 1 or 2 more randomly during slow times. I know what campaigns work and they have enough other work keeping their business going. I can setup campaign prescheduled up to a year in advance so it is easy to set and forget. They have 1 username and password and share that with managers or who will handle their campaigns. We can attach the owners, managers, and anyone's mobile # to their acct so they can send texts and mobile coupons from their mobile phone from their sales floor and don't have to be on their desktop computer - another great feature.

      2. You don't have to prepay but to activate your account they will need a credit card on file.

      3. You only pay for outgoing texts - any incoming texts from your clients customers are free

You are smart to look at as many "true" SMS providers as you can since there is quite a range in features, pricing, and support - Good Luck!!

          Hi Thomas,

Yes you can easily get the code for website or Facebook opt-ins. We are also using QR Codes in a creative way to drive the opt-ins. I am also in Seattle so if you are interested in seeing the platform in action or want to talk more about offline clients and text marketing send me an email to zenyattamobile@gmail dot com

@ zenyatta, well I think you just sold me on lime! LoL I still got a few more companys to get some information on. But I need to do this quick, and get a few customers ready to go. Since my next payment at trumpia is due in about a week. And I dont want to pay another few $XXX for something im not using.

Can a few people post there pricing they are using? Or PM me the info. I can not seem to come up with a good pricing. I think it is the main reason why I can seem to get any commented clients yet. I have been trying to come up with a price plan based on subscriber numbers and not per text message.

Thanks in advance for all the help everyone! And zenyatta, 100000000000000 x thanks!

@zenyatta, thanks again. I will try to contact you later today (7-26-11) What timezone are you in? I am in Central time in the USA. I want to make sure I do not try to contact you when you are trying to rest. :-)

But I did hear that lime does not do the no up front option anymore. I was told it is a minimal $600. Which kinda makes me sad. I was all ecstatic about the no upfront cost, I was sure I could get enough clients to cover the $300 before I got the 1st bill. But blah!
I was really plan on using the My Brand appointment setting for sales for what I was planing on targeting.

        hello Zenyatta,

Thanks for the info on SMS.
After doing all that research, can you share why you chose Lime over, say Avid Mobile? or Yeez?

These are the two that I had narrowed it down to, with Avid in the lead (I think ...that is until I read what you and others have had to say about Lime. Now I'm undecided all over again...thanks a lot guys!
What can you guys tell me, comparative-wise, that might help get me over the hump?

GerryLee, I'm a Lime white label user and here's my take on this.

Lime has all the usual features you'd want in an SMS marketing platform, including scheduling of messages, text2win, polls, questionnaires, WAP coupons with built in tracking of views and redeems, a WAP ad builder, multiple lists and the ability to split lists into groups, etc. I spent several months researching providers and decided upon Lime for several reasons.

I've been able to deal directly with the owner of the company, and he has been very responsive and usually replies to emails within a few hours, even on the weekend.

Unlike others, Lime isn't competing with their White Label partners. They are strictly a developer and own the short code, but they don't go sell the service on a retail level. They want to work with marketers like us, not compete against us.

They are continually developing the platform. The "developers log" on their website always has one or two updates every week, and they are always adding new features or enhancing existing ones.

The price is so much better than any I've seen except Twilio. But with Twilio you have to develop your own front-end.

From the admin panel, you can log into each of your client's accounts to manage them. You also have the option of giving them login access to manage their own accounts. It is a very easy system either way you want to do it.

The integration with my website is seamless so if you decide to give your customers access, they will never know it is Lime's software and not yours.

YeeZ was my second choice, but I wanted to go with a short-code provider and Yeez wasn't offering them at the time I made my decision.

I decided against Avid without even trying a demo because I tried going to their site on 3 separate occasions and each time received a "500 server error". Uptime is important to me.

I think Lime Cellular is the best white label SMS marketing platform.

          Hi GerryLee,

Glad to see you are doing your homework. Once I understood the differences in the longcode vs shortcode providers I decided to only work with a short code provider. I work with a lot of restaurants and need to be able to send "true" broadcast texts out immediately. So i can send 100s or 1000s of texts in seconds not hours. The Yeez website says 600 max texts per hour.

If I am sending texts to the lunch rush crowd at 11:30 when their stomachs are growling I need those texts to go out immediately not 1 or 2 hours from now. If your marketing strategy doesn't need timely delivery of texts then a longcode provider might work for you.

I looked at Avid Mobile and was impressed with their platform. I don't see their pricing on the website but when I was looking at them I believe their pricing was the final factor that made me choose Lime. Lime is "true" SMS at only 1-1.5 cents per text and a very robust platform. Try my free demo on seattlemobilesolutions dot com to see all the different features. I really like the mobile coupons and everything being Facebook integrated. We track viewing as well as redeemed coupons for our clients with ongoing and printable reports. In addition we can use barcoding on the coupon if the client wants to scan with there POS system and get even more stats on their customer purchases.

Everyone is different and has unique needs in a platform and SMS service depending on their clients and marketing strategies. So you are doing the right thing with your diligent homework. The best advice I can give is try the actual platform before you make your final decision since that is more important than actual text costs.

          Good Luck!!!

      Hi Byte,

Yes unfortunately the no upfront fee plan is gone - too many people that weren't serious signed up and then didn't follow through, so Lime had to put this $600 deposit in place to weed out the deadbeats. So they have you put $600 upfront as a deposit that you use as credit in months 7 and 8. So I would still advise lining up your clients ahead of time to cover the $300 monthly minimum(I signed up 1 client last week for a $397 monthly package so it doesn't take many clients to cover your out of pocket costs. You can signup for a free demo account to get access to most features and enough to show potential clients how it will work once your platform goes "live" in your city. That was how I sold it along with letting them know there were only 10 spots (business owners love being ahead of their competition and that scarcity factor)for the "beta test" rollout next week. Then when you activate the account and have full access to the platform you activate those clients and its off to the races. I signed up 3 new accounts this week alone that clears me almost $600 on monthly recurring plans. If you line up 50-100 clients at $200-$400 monthly you are clearing 10-20k monthly. That is my initial goal. Gotta go sell, sell, sell... Zen

Hey thats sounds very interesting as I emailed lime as well today. By the way do you let the clinets than use the platform by them self with a different password. Or do you manage all for them. And how do you charge per SMS. As I Know Lime will charge you 1,5c per sms, how mucg do you charge than your clients??

        Lime really looks very interesting

      Hey Byte,

I had one other thought I should have mentioned. Lime does post billing so you have 30 days of lining up clients before you will be billed. I don't know how much that will help because the $600 deposit is upfront in order to get your platform live. Also I am in Seattle so PST and if you want further info feel free to email me at zenyattamobile@gmail dot com

I am also with Lime and I can't say enough good about them. Service is great, I put in a couple bug reports and they were fixed in 12 hours or less. Whenever I email with questions, I get an answer from the owner, Yuval, usually within a few hours.

Lime also doesn't compete with its White Label partners on a retail level. If they receive a direct inquiry from an advertiser, they will refer them to one of their partners in that advertiser's area.

Thomas, you can create normal web opt-in forms from the dashboard.

I think Lime Cellular is the best white label SMS marketing platform.

@Eduard Ruppel. If you go white label you can give them login information. And you can manage them or let them. Depends on how you want to do that part of the business. Aso for price. You pay X amount per text and sell them to your clients at whatever price you want to sell it to them for.

So that means lets see: A client want to have 300 sms. I purchase those sms from lime and sell it to my client. Is that right, and my client don't know how to buy them from Lime.

Please correct me if I'm wrong here

I don't know yet how Lime is set up, but with white label, your clients would not know who the provider is and what your costs are.

So that means my clients will only know my company and that my company provides the sms. They will not know that Lime is behind it?

          Right?

Have a look at NotePage's software NotePage Pro they have desktop messaging as well as a network gateway for SMS.

More of a curious question, but everyone knows that integrating SMS into your business is the smart, and forward thinking thing to do by far. How long will it be before you will see a ROI from the costs incurred to set that up.

Is it possible to transfer all your clients over to Lime? I am just starting out and would rather obtain my clients first, get some cashflow, then move everything over to Lime.

You can, but you with any company. You will have to change shortcodes. Since yet our owned by each company.

Thanks. I'm going to start out long codes first. I like Lime, with all the features it has. Is there a Provider that does long codes but has all the features like mobile coupons, etc?
