DRIVING TRAFFIC TO MOBILE SITES: Is there a thing such as Mobile SEO or Mobile Backlinks?

Just curious as to how to go about driving search related traffic to the mobile version of clients website.

Also, what have you found to be some effective ways for clients to promote their mobile sites, without search related traffic?

    You could do a little OnSeo for their websites(titles, metatags, keywords), add them to the mobile directories and links exchange with other mobile websites

    You could use QR codes with discounts to promote their mobile websites.
    You could use QR codes with more details about certain product/service( ex: an video and detailed description of a car in a park lot)
    They could place an QR Code straight on their business cards, print ads, print advertising in general.

    Yes, as above use QR codes. Our clients use them in their print advertising, business cards, flyers and in the window displays.

    You can conduct an incentive based SMS campaign and include the mobile website link in the message. Receipients can only gain the incentive when they visit the site. Just be creative with that!

    @banditu is right on the money here! But I will tell you, as a Mobile Text seller, the companies I market to do not really care about that stuff at all. They all want instant cash!!!!! Right friggin' now! Or even yesterday!

    Must better to start off with a "texting campaign" , and build up a nice database to send out specials, events, promos, discounts, offers, etc.....this is great if they are retail, which mine are (restaurants, spas, salons and such).

      I'm curious how you get your clients - Cold call by phone, cold call walkin, email, direct mail? Especially the salons - do you work individually with each stylist or just with the salon owner that rents the chairs/work areas out to the stylists?
