Has anyone had success with doing offline Joint ventures

I was wondering if anyone has had any success with doing joint ventures with local businesses? For example, you handle a portion of their marketing and they pay you a commish every time they close a sale from a lead you sent them. This may be covered in other posts, but I haven't seen any. If you have had success in your market what types of things are you doing to keep track of your leads and do you have any trouble gettin' paid?

    Yes.

I set up a new phone number for them to call and I have great relationships with my clients so that I just trust them to be honest in the feedback about the leads and sales and just bill them what they tell me.

    If I think I can't trust them - I don't do business with them.

So Andy I'd take it you'd have to have a long prior relationship with these people before getting into a trust based deal with them? (I would think so.) Otherwise you'd have to be a really awesome judge of people's characters.

I ask because this sort of setup - offline partnership for profitshare - is my ideal, dream use of internet marketing.

      cheers,

      Luke

I'm a pretty good judge of people. I have been stung in the past - but because my focus is on good relationships and not just the money - I will happily end our arrangement if it's not working.

I only go into these relationships with a completely open and honest arrangement where either party can end it at any time with no hard feelings.

I like to make my business personal, so I don't do business with people that do not trust and respect my knowledge and way of working.

Yes it leaves money on the table but it also means I get to have really positive relationships with my clients where we usually become good friends as well as working together.

I just had a meeting this weekend with a potential new client and set this all out for him too.

You would probably get a better response posting this in the http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...g-discussions/ here.

I've been simmilar projects mentioned there several times.

The benefit is if you are generating leads you can always sell them to their competitors if things don't work out. The tough side is the tracking/trust issues. It's normally best to have dealt with them before.

The upside is massive something everyone should aim to get into eventually.
