How do you use IM techniques for Offline Marketing?

I read from one warrior that he is able to generate a lot of cash using IM techniques (like SEO) for Offline Marketing. Can someone provide their insights on this? I need it for my offline business because competition is really tough here.

I do a great deal of SEO for offline clients. Tying in Social Media Management to help a local business promote their product/service is a pretty busy task.

Getting Press Releases out for the client as well as some Article Marketing to help them get some traffic "Link Juice" going toward their website.

Another item is getting their website Mobile-Enabled and helping them get SMS Text Message Marketing in place, depending on what type of business they are.

I do find that I use quite a few IM skills to help bring the offline client into the "InterWeb" for others to see.

      Hi martbost,

Thanks for some insights on the topic. What do you mean by tying Social Media Management? I'm not familiar with this one.

Well with IM the biggest thing is Building a list.
Help them build their list of customers with Email Marketing.

Then they can send specials announcements etc to
drive in business at their will.

You can definitely follow the thoughts on building email lists and followers to direct them to your website.

You can also network with bloggers and influential people online to write about and advocate your product/service to drive links to your website. You can give them a % of the profit since high-quality leads are generally the most valuable part of the deal.

Ive found it important to find a single service you can promote to offline businesses, initially. Something like SMS or website remakes. Once you have a solid relationship with the client, then it's not hard to do more for them. SEO, i've found just personally, has been harder to sell than the other services.

Try creating a niche video for say "Veterinarians" with the final slide pointing to the description link below. Then you can target a local keyword and rank in a few hours. Contact all the local veterinarians and see if they are interested in putting their website link and charge them to rank for other local keywords in surrounding towns.

I know there have been wso's about this but it works a charm.

You can simply take a look at local businesses that do not have a website and that are willing to expand their business and offer them to create a professional website so they can reach a wider customer range.

After that you can up-sell with your SEO services with a special discount. If you created a website that suited their expectations and if you have some proof that you can actually rank a website higher in the search engines that you succesfully sold 2 online services to an offline client.

That's an excellent idea! I haven't thought of that!

You can use any number of scraper tools out there to find the needs of potential clients. For instance, you could help the hundreds of businesses out there that have not verified their Google Places accounts. This is a relatively easy process and it will get your foot in the door.
