The Real Deal Offline Series: If You Can't Focus, You're Offline Business Is Doomed...

Hey Offliners,

In my opinion, the hardest thing for us offliners to do is to focus on one strategy, method or plan for an extended amount of time.

If you're like me, then you probably have dozens of offline marketing wso's on your computer. But, most wso buyers spend more money on wso's than they make from their "offline" business.

When I first got started in offline, I would think back on all the money I'd spent on my offline education, and I'd get a litte depressed.

Why?

Because I wasn't making thousands or even hundreds per month like all the other guys and gals.

So, I started doubting if the marketing strategy worked or if my website sucked or if my prices were too high...too low...too confusing etc.

But the reality was much simpler. See, I wasn't working at any one thing long enough.

It was very unlikely that I would hit a homerun with one mailer, one day of calling, one email blast, one newspaper ad or any one single action.

However, it's a whole different story if you do one single action every week day for a month.

So, that's what I did.

My first milestone was the 30 day period. I just knew that if I did a strategy for 30 days straight, that something good would happen. Even if the good thing was me proving to myself that I was serious about making my offline business work.

By the way, that's what alot of offliners are missing. Belief in themselves because in their heart of hearts, they know they aren't really working hard enough on a regular basis.

So, my first month I did craigslist posting, mailings and calling on a daily basis and sure enough I got a 2 buyers and a bunch of buzz about what I was doing.

Did I make $50,000? No, but I did make $2,000 and gained the confidence to keep going.

If you're not getting the results you want, you may need to do some soul searching like I had to do.

Thanks,

Chris Rivers

    Chris,

I really like what you're sharing here, and from what I've read in this forum it seems to be a common problem. Just THAT ALONE, knowing it's actually a common problem helps a person not to feel so bad about themselves.

The key is taking action. Always has been. Always will be. Make that targeted action (like you explained above).

BTW, can you share where, how, and what you posted on Craigslist?

Thanks for the thread - good topic. You could also call it the "coaching/therapy" thread.

    All the best.

Chris - fantastic little post here. Much respect for being so honest, because we've all been there. I shudder when I think how close I PROBABLY came years and years ago, but gave up at the last minute. Luckily I learnt my lesson a few years back and haven't looked back since!
